Eagle award, Cody Stewart

Cody Alan Stewart, 17, son of Daron and Cathy Stewart of Rockwell, earned his Eagle Scout Award on March 26 at Troop 317 Court of Honor Award meeting.

The presentation was made by Jeff Fleming, Scoutmaster of the troop, sponsored by Christiana Lutheran Church.

Stewart has earned 22 activity pins and his God and Family, as well as the Arrow of Light Award.

He has held leadership positions as Troop historian, scribe and senior patrol leader and earned 28 merit badges.

For his Eagle Scout project, he organized a team of Scouts to build benches along a walking trail at the Rowan County Wildlife Association.

He is a junior at East Rowan High School, where he has played tennis and is a member of FFA and Junior Civitan. He is a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Rockwell.
