Nine Cannon seniors commended in Merit Scholarship program
CONCORD — Nine Cannon School seniors are among 34,000 students nationwide recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Kady DeSutter of Mooresville, Austin Dollar of Davidson, Meredith Frazier of of Mooresville, Zo‘ Moore of Davidson, Justin Ringuette of Davidson, Savannah Sipperly of Mooresville, Sara Wheeler of Concord and Taylor Williams of Kannapolis have been named Commended Students in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Each student placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2009 competition by taking the 2007 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
"We couldn't be more proud of these seniors," said Laura Trojan, Cannon School's dean of academic affairs. "Each one of them has demonstrated exemplary academic achievement while establishing a love of learning that will serve them well in college and beyond."
