Rowan County Weather, operated by Steve Monday, is launching a new website, www.rowancountyweather.com for people who don’t use social media.

The weather center is in the Atwell Township of Rowan County. Monday writes in a press release that the improvement in the new website will be geared to people who don’t use Facebook or Twitter, where Rowan County Weather regularly posts forecasts and conditions and has thousands of followers.

Monday was featured in a Sunday feature in the Salisbury Post, where he talked about his passion for weather. He is recognized by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Weather Service as a National Weather Ready Ambassador and is a weather spotter for WCNC in Charlotte and WFMY in Greensboro.

Enhancements of his website include up-to-the-minute radar, current conditions and a live camera view of outside the weather center. The site will include forecast information and a new and improved blog.

“This is a big step for Rowan County Weather as we continue to provide more ways for residents to gather weather information specific for the county,” said Monday, chief forecaster.

“It is a passion and goal of mine to provide the residents of Rowan County the most efficient and streamlined opportunity to get weather information specifically for our county. This is something that would not be possible without a great web designer and developer like 137px.”

Mike Hoffman of 137px is a web designer based in the North Carolina mountains specializing in theming and site building.
