SALISBURY — The public is being invited to a field day from 1-5 p.m. June 13 at The Lavender Garden.

Owner Rita Rodelli promises “loads of bumble bees and butterflies” among her roughly 300 lavender plants, which will be at the peak of their growth.

“It will be putting on a show for you,” Rodelli said. “… People are mesmerized by the lavender when it’s in bloom.”

The harvesting of her lavender will come during the week after the June 13 field day.

The Lavender Garden is located at 399 B Leazer Road, west of Salisbury off Miller’s Chapel Road.

Rodelli’s field of lavender includes Grappenhall lavender, known for its long stems in early summer. Other lavender varieties include Gross, which has a high oil content and rich scent; Hidcote Giant; Provence; and Abrialii.

Rodelli sells lavender products such as soaps, oils and linen sprays, as well as bouquets and flower arrangements for events and the home. She first planted lavender in 2004.
