SALISBURY — The Rowan County United Way has selected cabinet leaders for its 2015-2016 campaign who will work with Penny Greer-Link, general campaign chairman.

Greer-Link is directing the fall fund-raising campaign which involves
hundreds of volunteers throughout the county. Each cabinet leader in
charge of a division recruits a team to assist him, and together they
establish a goal for their division, call on accounts and run their
campaigns.

The United Way has met or exceeded its goal for the past four years,
including raising $1,972,300 in 2014, surpassing the goal of $1,879,750.
The funds are distributed to 16 local human services agencies approved by
the United Way.

Those in cabinet leadership roles for the campaign are: Michelle
Patterson, Patterson Farm, Public Relations Chairman; Marcie Puckett,
Freightliner, Training Chairman; Jeanie Moore, retired, Presidents
Campaign;  Shane Wolford, Bank of North Carolina, Chairmen’s Campaign;
Janet Spriggs, Rowan Cabarrus Community College, Industrial I; John
Struzick, Innospec, Industrial 2; Shelia Igo, Greystone Salon, Commercial

Professionals; Denise Hallett, Vulcan, SWAT/CEO Cultivation; and Greg

“This is a strong group of community and business leaders who I know will
work well together,” said Greer-Link. “It is an honor to be asked to chair
this year’s campaign and an even greater honor to work with such a talented group
serving on the cabinet.

“Some bring many years of experience with them, but
most are new to this part of the campaign. I feel that the experience of
the seasoned members, along with the energy of the new ones, will help
generate a great enthusiasm and electricity for this year’s campaign. I am
looking forward to an exciting year working with the cabinet, the
staff, the agencies and the many volunteers in this community.”

Church, the Rowan County manager, says his involvement
with United Way gives him the opportunity “to work with community partners
to enhance lives of Rowan County citizens.”

Struzick calls Rowan County “blessed to have a United Way organization that is
focused on excellence in every phase of operation.

“We have an outstanding assembly of dedicated people serving on the local
Board of Directors, the 2015 Campaign Cabinet is top notch, and the United
Way full-time staff is second to none,” Struzick said. “The zeal and
professionalism is truly rare in our society today.”
