Roller mill to have May open house on Sunday

The Historical Society of South Rowan will have a May open house for the China Grove Roller Mill on Sunday.
The event will begin at 2 p.m. and end at 4 p.m. on May 31. The roller mill is located at 308 N. Main St. in China Grove.
Children of all ages are invited to the open house. Children will be able to paint a pot with their own design and plant a flower in the pot after painting it. Art students from South Rowan High School will be at the event to help assist with painting projects.
In addition, the museum will be displaying original artwork from students at South Rowan High School.  The exhibit is provided in cooperation with the Art Department at South Rowan under the direction of teachers Jackie Elliott and Wayne Freeman.
Self-guided tours will also be available during this event. The public is invited and refreshments will be served. No fees or reservations are required.The Roller Mill Museum is also available for receptions, meetings and public events.
