WOODLEAF — A Woodleaf woman reported a break-in of her home on Monday where items, including her pet bearded dragon, were stolen.

The woman, Autumn Livengood Smith, told authorities she’d gone to work that morning and returned home to find her front door had been kicked in, a report said.

She told deputies there were a few items missing from her Wilson Wood Drive home, including a 42-inch television. A fire safe was found opened and items inside taken, and the reptile, which she had in an aquarium in her living room, was gone.

She estimated the medium-sized gray and black lizard was valued at $250 and the TV at $350, said Sheriff’s Capt. John Sifford.

Smith also said her dresser drawers were opened.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office at 704-216-8700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
