Man responsible for car break-ins arrested in Mooresville

A Charlotte man responsible for a string of car break-ins in Charlotte, Salisbury and Mooresville was arrested Thursday evening in Mooresville.

According to Salisbury Police Capt. Shelia Lingle, Garnett Coulbourne, 27, of Charlotte, broke into two Ford pickup trucks in Salisbury. One was in the Lowe’s Home Improvement parking lot in the 200 block of Faith Road and the other was in the Hibbit Sports parking lot in the 1300 block of Klumac Road.

“They ended up taking him down in Mooresville for doing the same thing,” she said.

Coulbourne is facing 18 individual charges – nine of those charges were for breaking and entering a motor vehicle, one was for possession of stolen goods and the rest were a variety of traffic related incidents, including failure to stop at a stoplight and speeding. One of the breaking entering charges was from Charlotte, two were from Salisbury and six were in Iredell County. All other charges were in Iredell County.

Coulbourne was booked into the Iredell County Detention Center Thursday at 8:50 p.m., and is being held on a $250,000 bond.
