Blotter: Narcotics investigation leads to felony cocaine possession charges for man

Salisbury Police charged a man Wednesday with felony cocaine possession following a narcotics investigation.

Robert Lewis Jefferson, 32, whose address is listed as the streets of Salisbury, was issued a $1,500 secured bond and has since been released from the Rowan County jail.

Jefferson was taken into custody on the sidewalk at the 1400 block of North Long Street. He was convicted of felony possession of a schedule I substance, felony possession with intent to sell schedule VI on three separate occasions.

In other police reports:

• Smart Start Rowan reported on Wednesday a larceny occurred in the 1300 block of South Jake Alexander Boulevard.

• A man reported on Wednesday his cell phone was stolen from the 300 block of Mahaley Avenue.

• A woman reported on Wednesday sometime between April 4, 2014 and Feb. 16, someone took her license plate from her vehicle while parked in front of her home in the 500 block of Grove Street.

• A woman reported on Wednesday someone stole her cell phone in the 1000 block of Mooresville Road.

• Christopher Allen Morgan, 36, was charged on Tuesday with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in the 800 block of Klumac Road.  Morgan was also charged with misdemeanor resist, obstruct, delay an officer and misdemeanor communicating threats in the 100 block of Barrier Lane, Spencer.

• Burlee Tobias Kersey, 31, was charged on Wednesday with misdemeanor possession of marijuana in the 1000 block of North Long Street.

• A woman reported on Tuesday someone used her name and personal information to activate a Duke Energy account and receive medical treatment at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in the 1200 block of Tammy’s Park Road.

• A woman reported on Tuesday someone took jewelry from her home in the 100 block of Burmac Circle.

• A woman reported on Tuesday items were stolen from her home sometime between Feb. 22 and Tuesday in the 200 block of Buccaneer Circle.

• A deputy was assaulted on Tuesday while serving an order for arrest on a subject who was uncooperative in the 100 block of Kenway Drive, Woodleaf.

• A woman reported on Tuesday she was the victim of identity theft and someone filed taxes in her name in the 200 block of Old Beatty Ford Road, China Grove.

• A man reported on Tuesday someone broke into his property in the 500 block of Garrick Road.

• Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, West Liberty Fire Department and Rowan Rescue Squad located an elderly Alzheimer’s patient who wandered away from home in the 500 block of Hill Road, Gold Hill.

• Issac Shirl McCullough, 29, was charged on Tuesday with misdemeanor resist, obstruct, delay an officer in the 100 block of Kenway Drive, Woodleaf.

• Tara Burgess Tilley, 26, was charged on Tuesday with misdemeanor simple assault while at the Rowan County courthouse.

• Reginal Antonio Jones, 38, was charged on Tuesday with misdemeanor communicating threats while at the Rowan County Detention Center.

• Derrick Lamar Horton, 25, was charged on Tuesday with misdemeanor resist, obstruct, delay an officer in the 100 block of Coley Road, Granite Quarry.

• Cedarian Markell Lee, 18, was issued a citation on Tuesday for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in the 1800 block of Brenner Avenue during a traffic stop.
