Authorities have charged a Salisbury man with three counts of misdemeanor death by vehicle three months after a South Jake Alexander Boulevard collision resulted in the deaths of three women.

Brian Keith Hall, 32, of the 300 block of Eastwood Drive, turned himself into authorities Saturday. He was issued a $3,000 secured bond and has since been released from the Rowan County Detention Center.

He’s been charged in the deaths of Vivian Leona McCulloh, 82, of Advance, who was removed from life support a week after the Oct. 21 crash, Hattie Smith McCulloh, 93, also of Advance, and Vivian “Lynn” McCulloh Tutterow, 57, of Mocksville.

Hattie Smith McCulloh and Vivian Lynn Tutterow, were passengers in the back seat of a Honda and were killed. Tutterow was a popular Davie High School teacher. The driver of the Honda, Pamela McCulloh Crump, 61, of Greensboro, was seen walking around shortly after the crash, but later taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

The women were related, police officials said at the time of the crash. The Honda the women were inside was struck from behind by Hall’s Chevrolet Silverado pickup. The collision occurred at South Jake Alexander Boulevard near Ivy Street.

Hall did not decrease his speed as “necessary to avoid colliding with another vehicle,” the warrant said.
