Watt sells out with amnesty vote

SALISBURY POST

I would like to say to U.S. House Rep. Melvin Watt: You have sold out, not only Rowan County and North Carolina, but also the United States of America, by voting “yes” Tuesday on giving millions of illegal immigrants amnesty.

You have successfully said, “I do not care that our country’s borders are wide open to criminals and terrorists. I do not care that 37,000 North Carolina workers have lost their jobs since 1997. I do not care that millions more across the United States have lost their jobs due to cheap immigrant labor. I do not care that 89 percent of Americans did not want amnesty for illegal immigrants. I do not care that this sends a message to the criminals and terrorists from other countries to come to America.”

Now, let me tell you what I care about. That this will wake up those who voted for you in the past. That it is not in their best interest or the nation’s to vote for you in the future.

— Patrick H. Dellinger
