Horse, family can rest in peace

SALISBURY POST

We live on a farm in the western part of the county. One Saturday my son was riding our horse when she fell while crossing the creek. The vet said she had a back injury and her chances of recovering were slim. On Sunday, she was no better, and she had to be put to sleep.

My world was turned upside down. I love animals so much. When the vet put her to sleep, I had no clue as to how get a 1,000-pound horse buried. I called Johnny Safrit at Safrit Landscape Construction Co. and asked him for help.

He went out of his way to help me. On Monday, he sent some of his workers out (they told us they had buried a lot of things but never a horse) and they did a great job with the big equipment they had.

I will always be grateful for all the help. I could never thank him enough for what he did for my family in our time of need.
