Salisbury — Livingstone College Athletic Director Clifton Huff has announced the release of its men’s basketball coach Edward Joyner.
After two seasons under Joyner’s direction, the Blue Bears basketball teams have compiled 12-41 overall record.
“We are in the process of taking the entire athletic department in a new direction that coincides with the goals and objectives of the college,” states Huff.
Joyner has recently completed his second season as the Blue Bears head coach. Livingstone won six of 26 games during his first year. In conference play, LC was 4-12 and 2-8 in the western division of the
CIAA. This past season, Joyner’s team finished 6-21 overall, 3-12 in the conference and 2-8 in the division. Prior to
Livingstone, Joyner served seven years as the head coach at St. Paul’s College. The Tigers compiled a 79-107 overall record under Joyner’s leadership.
The Search Committee will immediately begin its process finding a new head coach.
