Faye P. Blackwelder
CHINA GROVE — Faye Virginia Plott Blackwelder, 87, 304 S. Myrtle St., formerly of 912 Union St. S., Concord, died Monday (Jan. 14, 2002) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born Sept. 18, 1914, in Concord, Mrs. Blackwelder was a son of the late Adolphus O. “D.O.” and Lille Rosetta Widenhouse Plott. She was a 1936 graduate of Appalachian State University, Boone.
A retired teacher, she taught in the Cabarrus County schools for 38 years. She was an active member of St. Martin Lutheran Church; was a volunteer with the American Red Cross; and worked to preserve the old courthouse through the Historic Cabarrus organization.
She was preceded in death by her husband, D. Hugh Blackwelder, whom she married Dec. 25, 1941.
Survivors include son D.H. Blackwelder III, Spartanburg, S.C.; daughters Rosetta Everhart, China Grove, and Virginia Gaye St. John, Kannapolis; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Carrie ‘Dollie’ Cook
GRANITE QUARRY — The funeral will be Thursday for Carrie “Dollie” Irby Cook, 106, 1020 Legion Club Road, who died Monday (Jan. 14, 2002) at her home after a week of serious illness.
Born Oct. 23, 1895, in Winnsboro, S.C., Mrs. Cook, a daughter of the late John and Carrie Irby, was educated in the Winnsboro schools. She was a domestic worker.
A member of Antioch Baptist Church, she was Mother of the Church.
Her husband, Lonnie Cook, died in 1970.
Survivors include sons Maceo Cook,Granite Quarry, and Alfred Cook, of the home; daughters Rebecca Smith and Naomi Nixon, both of Lakeland, Fla., Mamie Sloan, Winston-Salem, Daisy Morrow and Ella Cook, both of Granite Quarry; granddaughter reared in the home Beverly Hairston, Granite Quarry; 77 other grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Louise Fee
The funeral will be Friday for Louise Fee, 96, 512 E. Fisher St., who died Monday (Jan. 14, 2002) at Rowan Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health.
Born Sept. 15, 1905, in Lake City, S.C., Mrs. Fee was a daughter of the late Calvin and Louise Stall Rogers. She was educated in the Lake City schools.
A member of Thomas Street Church of Christ, she retired from Spencer Nursing Center.
Survivors include a number of nieces.

Charlotte B. Harris
The funeral will be Thursday for Charlotte Butler Harris, Salisbury, who died Monday (Jan. 14, 2002) at her home after a year of declining health.
A native of Rowan County, Mrs. Harris was a daughter of the late Charles Jennings and Desta Gantt Butler. She was a graduate of Boyden High School and attended Salisbury Business College.
A member of First United Methodist Church, she was employed by Rowan Printing Co., which later became Hank Palmer and Associates.
Survivors include husband John P. Harris, whom she married Dec. 13, 1963; brothers George B. “Rudy” and Charles J. Butler, both of Salisbury; and sister Shirley B. Ray, Rockwell.

James ‘Ray’ Loflin
The funeral will be Thursday for James “Ray” Loflin, 62, Salisbury, who died Tuesday (Jan. 15, 2002) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born April 22, 1939, in Rowan County, Mr. Loflin was a son of the late George Floyd and Eunice Malinda Easter Loflin. He was educated in the Spencer schools and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He owned and operated Loflin Upholstery in Salisbury and Kannapolis before his retirement. A member of Bethel Lutheran Church, he was also a member of Rowan County Coin Club.
Survivors include wife Barbara Diane Henrickson Loflin, whom he married June 28, 1958; son Eric Ray Loflin, Concord; daughter Erin Anderson, Salisbury; brothers Jay Loflin, Port Orchard, Wash., and Albert Loflin, Salisbury; sister Betty Craver, Salisbury; and two grandchildren.

Born Oct. 5, 1929, in Rowan County, Mr. Myers was a son of the late Jiles Carl and Gertrude Winecoff Myers. He was a 1948 graduate of Woodleaf High School and a 1977 graduate of Mendenhall School of Auctioneering.
A lifetime member of Gay’s Chapel United Methodist Church, he retired as a truck driver from Superior Oil Co. with over 30 years of service.
Survivors include son Carl Myers, of the home.

Wilbert ‘Buck’ Pinyan
CHINA GROVE — Wilbert Dewey “Buck” Pinyan, 83, 1630 Lentz Road, died Tuesday (Jan. 15, 2002) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.
Born May 13, 1918, in Mecklenburg County, Mr. Pinyan was a son of the late James Alexander and Benita Pinyan. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corp.
He retired from Cannon Mills Plant 1, instrument department welding shop. He was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include wife Margaret Fox Pinyan; daughter Brenda Pinyan Berry, China Grove; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Harold Clinton Stoner
The funeral will be today for Harold Clinton Stoner, 70, Salisbury, who died Monday (Jan. 14, 2002) at Rowan Regional Medical Center after an illness of six months.
Born Feb. 17, 1931, in Rowan County, Mr. Stoner was a son of the late John David and Anna Kesler Stoner. He was educated at Rockwell High School.
Retired from Cartex Mills, Salisbury, he was a member of East Corinth Baptist Church, Gold Hill.
His wife, Hazel Barringer Stoner, died July 15, 1998.
Survivors include sons Harold Clinton Stoner Jr., Gold Hill, and Marshall Lee Stoner, of the home; daughter Frances Marie Martin, Salisbury; brother Ned Stoner, Salisbury; sisters Daisy S.
