Letter to the Editor

Moving forward

SALISBURY POST

With Buddy Gettys as mayor the people of Spencer have benefitted and should certainly be aware of the projects that have been undertaken and completed under his tenure. One very visible one is the appearance and development of Main Street, which brought new businesses and a fine restaurant to Spencer.

Another is Library Park and the improvement of the homes surrounding it. The transfer of water and sewer services to the city of Salisbury, accomplished under his leadership, has saved money for the town and for each resident, and it will not be very far in the future when everyone will see a new fire station that all can be proud of.

The town of Spencer is moving forward and in many ways becoming a model town to others. The old adage is : “If it’s not broke — don’t fix it.”

— Pat Nelson
