Keep Kannapolis dry

SALISBURY POST

We do not need alcoholic beverages in Kannapolis in any way, shape, nor form! There is no age when one is old enough to drink it. Various amounts cause trouble in different people. It has caused dissension and turmoil throughout time.

When Jesus turned water into wine, perhaps he made a perfect kind which would not cause intoxication or maybe they drank a limited amount; I do not know — at least they did not have to drive. I wish he would turn all the wine, etc. into water — now!

We do know that in other places in the Bible, it tells us it is a mocker and to stay away from it except for medicinal purposes (which would be a rarity). God created it, so it must have a purpose (like other drugs). Just to drink it for one’s own pleasure is unnecessary; we have too many other drinks available now in modern times.

Most people are crazy enough without adding alcohol to their bodies and brains.

I have seen ministers purchase and use it. Their actions speak louder than words; thus their partaking loses any witness of Christian influence. I feel ministers, teachers, parents or anyone who is influential should guide people (especially our youth) for doublemindedness causes chaos.

Money spent on it could be put to better use. We do not need the money from it (nor from tobacco). Never have I been more proud and thankful to be from the dry town of Kannapolis.
