Don’t stifle growth

SALISBURY POST

To vote no for the sale of alcoholic beverages in Kannapolis and support it by frequenting the businesses that sell it is beyond reason and rational thinking. Why would anyone want to choke their own city and feed a lifeline to neighboring cities? That is exactly what people in Kannapolis are doing. They think they must vote against this, but turn around and support the businesses that sell it, all the time complaining about their property taxes.

The biggest topic of discussion these days in Kannapolis is the number of jobs lost, businesses leaving town like crazy, no decent shopping and how we can’t beg hard enough or give enough to make new businesses locate in Kannapolis.

If this March 5 vote fails, we only have ourselves to blame.

— Lynn Beckner
