Harold D. Bodle
Harold D. Bodle, 79, Salisbury, formerly of Coupeville, Wash., died Wednesday (Feb. 20, 2002) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born March 11, 1922, in Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Bodle was a son of the late Orren Clyde and Alice Leota Johnson
Bodle.
He retired from the U.S. Navy, after over 20 years service, at the rank of commander. He had also been a chaplain.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Bodle, and a daughter, Lorna Alice
Bodle.
Survivors include daughter Ruth “Dee” Zachary, Salisbury; sisters Rosemary Van
Scheppen, Columbus, Ohio, and Barbara Tucker, Charlestown, W.Va.; and two grandchildren.
The body will be cremated. There will be no services.
Summersett Funeral Home is in charge.
Leona Hall Bowers
ROCKWELL — The funeral will be Friday for Leona Irene Hall Bowers, 82, Rockwell, who died Wednesday (Feb. 20, 2002) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.
Born April 5, 1919, in Rockwell, Mrs. Bowers, a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Esther Morris Hall, was educated in the Rockwell schools.
In 1980, she retired after 45 years from Cannon Mills Plant 11 spinning room. She was a member of Rockwell United Methodist Church.
Survivors include son James Lee “Sonny” Bowers, Rockwell; sister Mary
Holshouser, Genesis Eldercare, Salisbury; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Rockwell United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ellen
Harkey. Burial, Ursinus United Church of Christ cemetery.
Visitation: 7-8 tonight, Powles Funeral Home.
Albert DeLapp
LEXINGTON — Albert DeLapp, 86, West Sixth Avenue Extension, died Tuesday (Feb. 19, 2002) at his home.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Davidson Funeral Home chapel. Burial, Forest Hill Memorial Park. Military rites by VFW Post 3074.
Visitation: 6-8 tonight at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home on West Sixth Avenue Extension.

Kathleen Hall Gainey
KANNAPOLIS —Kathleen Lorine Hall Gainey, 76, 403 Ford St., died Tuesday (Feb. 19, 2002)at her home.
Born May 8, 1925, in Darlington, S.C., Mrs. Gainey was a daughter of the late Sidney and Mattie Hicks Hall. She retired as a spinner from Cannon Mills Plant 4 after 20 years.
Her husband, Boyd James Gainey, preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons James, Tony, Darrell, Randy and Andy Gainey, all of Kannapolis, Beauford
Gainey, China Grove, George Gainey, Columbia, S.C., Dexter Gainey, Orlando, Fla., and Wayne
Gainey, Concord; daughters Mattie Lowe, Easley, S.C., Marlene Mesimer and Corlais Adams, both of Kannapolis, Eleanor Green, Concord, Marion
Ritch, Mount Pleasant, and Darlene Dinges, Rockwell; brothers Ray, J.B., and Buddy Hicks Hall, all of Hartsville, S.C.; sister Gertrude Smith, Marietta, S.C.; 25 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Hartsell Funeral Home chapel, Concord, conducted by the Rev. Felden Cox. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.

Elbert N. Jordan
KANNAPOLIS — Elbert Newsom Jordan, 77, 310 Bethpage Road, died Wednesday (Feb. 20, 2002) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born Sept. 25, 1924, in Chesterfield County, S.C., Mr. Jordan was a son of the late William and Nancy J. Jordan. He was a member of Mount Zion Freewill Baptist Church.
A retired carpenter, he was employed with F.D. Dalrymple for 24 years.
A daughter, Doris Ann Jordan, preceded him in death.
Survivors include wife Estelle Hurst Jordan; daughters Lynda Koontz, Kannapolis, and Carol
Quesinberry, Concord; son Charles Jordan, Kannapolis; sister Cora Oliver,
Chesterfield,S.C.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Mount Zion Freewill Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Joe
Rahme. The body will be place in the church at 1:30. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Whitley’s Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home on Bethpage Road.

Pauline L. McInnis
KANNAPOLIS — The funeral will be Friday for Pauline Long McInnis, 91, formerly of Sloop Avenue, who died Wednesday (Feb. 20, 2002) at Five Oaks Nursing Center, Concord.
Born Nov. 27, 1910, in Union County, Mrs. McInnis was a daughter of the late George Alexander and Dora Kluttz Long. She retired from Cannon Mills after 50 years.
A member of Jackson Park United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, she was also a member of Rowan Rose Society. For over 60 years, she belonged to the Miriam Winslow Chapter of Eastern Star.
Her husband, Walter Henderson McInnis, died Nov. 23, 1974.
Survivors include daughters Jane Anderson, Kannapolis, and Margaret Andersen, Concord; sister Vivian Russell, Brief; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services: 3:30 p.m. Friday, Lady’s Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Skipper
