Ruth Hill Rinehardt
ROCKWELL — Ruth Hill Rinehardt, 82, Shelby, formerly of Rockwell, died Tuesday (Feb. 12, 2001) at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 18, 1919, in Rowan County, Mrs. Rinehardt, a daughter of the late John and Lou Hill, was educated in the Rowan County schools.
She was a member of Ursinus United Church of Christ and was a former employee of China Grove Cotton Mill.
Her husband, Adam Rinehardt, died Nov. 2, 1983; and a son, Tommy Rinehardt, died in February 1985.
Survivors include son Bob Rinehardt, Shelby; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services: Graveside, 11 a.m. Thursday, Ursinus United Church of Christ cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Jim Staunton, pastor.

KANNAPOLIS — Helen Dora Overcash Rivera, 88, Caremoor Retirement Center, formerly of 1404 S. Cannon Blvd., died Tuesday (Feb. 12, 2002) at NorthEast Medical Center.
Born Oct. 8, 1913, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Rivera was a daughter of the late Judge Y. Trammell and Lela Chambers Trammell.
A lifelong member of Center Grove Lutheran Church, she retired as a sales clerk in the children’s department at Belk.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Lee Overcash and John Rivera.
Survivors include daughter Janice Lisk Blake, Midland; sister Frances Heare, Miami, Texas; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Center Grove Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Zachariah Harris III. Burial, church cemetery.

Bernice W. Utley
Bernice Barbara Washington Utley, 54, formerly of Granite Quarry, died Sunday (Feb. 3, 2002)in Raleigh.
Born April 5, 1947, in Salisbury, Mrs. Utley, a daughter of Marie Washington, Baltimore, Md., was a graduate of Dunbar High School, East Spencer. She was a member of True-Way Holiness Church, Raleigh.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include husband Robert Lee Utley; son Robert Lee Utley Jr., of the home; daughter Taneka “Nikki” Utley, of the home; brothers Robert Lee, Abraham, Ulysses, Maurice and Michael Lewis Washington, all of Salisbury, and John and Charles Washington, both of Baltimore, Md.; and sisters May Smallwood and Inez David, both of Baltimore, Md.
Funeral services were held at noon on Feb. 8 at True-Way Holiness Church, Raleigh.
