Olga Castor

KANNAPOLIS — Olga Caroline Lisenmeyer Castor, 101, Fort Collins, Colo., formerly of Kannapolis, died Tuesday (Sept. 11, 2001) in Fort Collins.

Born Feb. 8, 1900, in Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Castor, a daughter of the late Charles and Annie Stoltz Lisenmeyer, was a homemaker. She was a member of Center Grove Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Bradshaw DeKime Castor, Oct. 3, 1968.

Survivors include son the Rev. Frederick Castor, Fort Collins, Colo.

Services: Graveside, 3 p.m. Saturday, Center Grove Lutheran Church cemetery, Kannapolis, conducted by the Rev. Lonnie Karriker.

Lady’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Louise H. Braddock

LEXINGTON — Louise Hardy Braddock, 54, 294 Old Hwy. 109, died Monday (Sept. 24, 2001).

Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Piedmont Funeral Home chapel.

Visitation: 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

 

Sabrina Shay Cowan

The funeral will be Saturday for Sabrina Shay Cowan, 44, 1406 Longview Ave., who died Sunday (Sept. 23, 2001) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem.

Born Sept. 12, 1957, in Rowan County, Miss Cowan was a daughter of Elizabeth Propst Cowan, of the home, and the late Willie James Cowan. She was educated in Manhattan, N.Y., and was a graduate of Salisbury High School.

A certified nursing assistant, she was employed at BrianCenter Health and Rehabilitation.She attended Lily’s ChapelChurch of God Founded by Jesus Christ.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include son Kevin Lamont Cowan, Manhattan, N.Y.; brothers Joe D., Robert Lee and Roger Stevenson and Elder Calvin Elliott Cowan, all of Salisbury, and James Edward Cowan, Lexington; sister Sandra L. Cowan, of the home; and two grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Lily’s Chapel Church of God, conducted by Elder Thomas H. Clawson. Entombment, Rowan Memorial Park.

Visitation: 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Rowan Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

 

James Henry Jackson

KANNAPOLIS — The funeral will be Friday for James Henry Jackson, 77, 2104 Glenwood St., who died Wednesday (Sept. 26, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, after three weeks of serious illness.

Born Dec. 28, 1923, in Rowan County, Mr. Jackson was a son of the late James Watson and Ila Archie Jackson. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army 127th Engineer Division in the European Theater.

He retired in 1986 after 45 years with CannonMills Co., where he was a supervisor in Plant 1 bleachery department. After his retirement, he was employed with Terry Products Inc.

A member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church, he was active in all phases of church activities, including the church council.

Survivors include wife Louise Cruse Jackson; son Tim Jackson, Kannapolis; and two grandsons.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Richard Rhoades and the Rev.Hoke Ritchie. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.

Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Whitley’s Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home on Glenwood Street.

Chester C. James

LEXINGTON — Chester Carter James, 59, 1375 Old Mill Farm Road, died Tuesday (Sept. 25, 2001).

Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Piedmont Funeral Home chapel.

Visitation: 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

 

Robert Cornelius Lutz

The funeral will be Friday for Robert Cornelius Lutz, 65, 1120 Butler St., who died Sunday (Sept. 23, 2001) at his home.

Born Feb. 22, 1936, in Cleveland County, Mr. Lutz was a son of the late Elves I. and Lela Mauney Lutz. He was educated in the Cleveland County schools and was employed by Taylor Clay Products Inc.

Survivors include wife Loritha Woodbury Lutz; son Robert Lewis Lutz, Shelby; daughter Barbara Lutz, Detroit, Mich.; stepdaughter Starr Woodbury Lowe, Danville, Va.; brothers Melvin Lutz, Little Ferry, N.J., and Billy Gene Lutz, Arlington, Va.; sisters Inez Addison and Dyan D. Laval, both of Arlington,Va., and Joyce K. Lutz, Bayonne, N.J.; and three grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Friday, New Testament Word of Faith Church, conducted by the Rev. Martha Starks. Burial, Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation: 1:30-2 p.m. Friday at the church. At other times, the family will be at the home of a sister-in-law Mary Bailey, 1115 Butler St.

Rowan Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

 

Ruby Britt Troxler

THOMASVILLE — Ruby Alline Britt Troxler, 80, 127 Jewel St., mother of Brenda Watts, Granite Quarry, died Tuesday (Sept. 25, 2001) at her home.

Services: 2 p.m. Friday, J.C. Green &Sons chapel. Burial, Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation: 7-9 tonight at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home on Jewel Street.

Memorials: Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
