Letters to the Editor

There’s price to pay for disobeying God

SALISBURY POST

In response to Dan K. Thomasson’s column in the Sept. 18 opinion section, I would like to say that the beliefs of Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell do not mirror my views or the views of God as a whole.

Space does not permit to go into depth on each of these subjects, but I will say that Mr. Thomasson’s knowledge of God is below the average of a newborn baby. Even mediocre study of God’s word will show a loving, caring and protective God, but will also show that when God’s word is not obeyed, there will be a price to pay.

Hebrews 10:31 says, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” The immorality of today’s society cannot be ignored, and yes, this does include homosexuality, people who practice abortion and sexual immorality in general.

Please read I Corinthians 6:9-10 for a short list of ones that will not inherit the kingdom of God. In addition, there is only one church that is mentioned in the New Testament: The Church of Christ. (See Matthew 16:18, Ephesians 1:22-23, Colossians 1:18, Ephesians 4:4-5, Ephesians 5:23, I Corinthians 12:12-13, Acts 4:12, Romans 12:4-5, Romans 16:16, Acts 20:28.) In closing, please read II Thessalonians 1:6-9 to see what will happen to those who do not know God.
