KANNAPOLIS —Claude Whicker Cline, 69, 210 Oakdale Ave., died Monday (Sept. 24, 2001)at his home.
Born Dec. 21, 1931, in Cabarrus County, Mr. Cline was a son of the late Junnius W. and Mary Elizabeth Walters Cline. He retired from Cannon Mills, where he was a painter and had previously worked in the cutting room.
Survivors include daughters Claudette Miller, Little River, S.C., Vickie Cox, Concord, Gena Scoggins, Rockwell, and Teresa Wallace, Kannapolis; brothers Max and Lawrence Cline, both of Kannapolis; sisters Mary Moose, Concord, and Louise Anderson, Kannapolis; half sister Thelma Overcash, South Carolina; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

MOUNT PLEASANT —Ruby Mae Bost, 54, 1470 Mount Pleasant Road, died Monday (Sept. 24, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born Feb. 1, 1947, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Bost was a daughter of the late Robert S. and Ruby Carpenter Bost. She was employed by Shogren Hosiery Mill.
Survivors include brothers Donald and Woodrow Bost, both of Concord, and Robert Bost, Mount Pleasant; and sisters Betty Earnhardt, Kannapolis, Evelyn Clawson, Concord, and Phyllis Vause, Salisbury.

LINWOOD — Judy Faye Johnson Lomax, 57, Seven Oaks Drive, died Monday (Sept. 24, 2001) at her home after six weeks of illness.
Born March 8, 1944, in Davidson County, Mrs. Lomax was a daughter of the late Ervin H. and Georgia Roxanne Cross Johnson. She was secretary/bookkeeper for G &I Construction Co. and was a member of Yadkin Baptist Church.
Survivors include husband W.L. Lomax Jr.; daughters Angie Grubb and Kathy Allman, both of Lexington; brothers Bobby V. and Ervin Jack Johnson, both of Lexington; sisters Evelyn Dorsett and Ruth Byerly, both of Lexington, Edith Hege, Ashe, and Dottie Ribelin, Linwood; and five grandchildren.

William ‘Bill’ Poole
ROCKWELL — A private memorial service will be held at a later date for William “Bill” Alexander Poole, 73, Rockwell, who died Monday (Sept. 24, 2001) at The Meadows Retirement Center.
Born Jan. 13, 1928, in Rowan County, Mr. Poole, a son of the late Lawson and Lula Poole, was educated in the Rowan County schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a Baptist and was a construction foreman.
Survivors include son Donald Poole, Salisbury; daughters Glenda Jones and Pam Koontz, both of Salisbury, Sharon Holder, Newton, and Cindy Harmon, Rockwell; brother Alvin Poole, Rockwell; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Ola D. Robbins
Ola Dowdle Robbins, 87, 1206 Kenly St., died Monday (Sept. 24, 2001) at her home after a period of declining health.
Born Dec. 13, 1913, in York County, S.C., Mrs. Robbins was a daughter of the late Samuel and Eula Goode Dowdle. She was educated in York, S.C.
A homemaker, she was a member of Thomas Street Church of Christ.
Her husband, Samuel Robbins, died April 19, 1988. She was also preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Fannie Mae Littlejohn.
Survivors include sons Max Robbins, Salisbury, and Johnny Robbins, Fayetteville; daughters Helen R. Brandon Wagoner
The funeral will be Wednesday for Brandon Ervin Wagoner, 4-year-old son of Angel Lee Hendrix Wagoner, Salisbury, and Jason Ervin Wagoner, Tullahoma, Tenn.
The child, born May 14, 1997, in Rowan County, died Wednesday (Sept. 19, 2001) from an accidental drowning.

Ivan Earl Whitaker
MOCKSVILLE — The funeral will be Wednesday for Ivan Earl Whitaker, 68, Dunn Haven Road, who died Sunday (Sept. 23, 2001) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem.
Born Aug. 24, 1933, in Davie County, Mr. Whitaker was a son of the late William Arthur and Margaret Lucille Mayhew. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Retired from Rubbermaid Corp., Statesville, he had also worked for Erwin Mills and Holly Farms Poultry. He was a member of Cooleemee American Legion Post and Cooleemee Historical Society.
Survivors include sons Duane Whitaker, Tobaccoville, and Rodney Whitaker, Taylorsville; daughters Rita Hammond, Huntersville, and Sandy Whitaker, Lake Norman; brothers Ralph, Jay, Jerry and Robert Whitaker, all of Mocksville, Jack and Mac Whitaker, both of Winston-Salem, and Lawrence Whitaker, Cool Springs; sisters Ruth Mabe and Shelby Deal, both of Mocksville, and Barbara Bowles, Advance; and four grandchildren.
