Beatrice ‘Bea’ Allred

LEXINGTON — Daisy Beatrice “Bea” Parks Allred, 82, Rob Allred Road, died Wednesday (Sept. 5, 2001) at Brian Center Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Services: 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Beck’s United Church of Christ. Burial, church cemetery.

Visitation: 6-8 tonight, Davidson Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home on Bob Allred Road.

Memorials: Beck’s United Church of Christ, 2845 Beck’s Church Road, Lexington, NC 27292.

 

Berry Clifford Eudy Jr.

Berry Clifford Eudy Jr., 52, 621 Cedar St., died Thursday (Sept. 6, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove, is in charge.

 

Hazel Teeter Linder

A memorial service will be held at a later date for Hazel Nadine Teeter Linder, 78, formerly of Ryan Street, who died Wednesday (Sept. 5, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center after three weeks of serious illness.

Born July 3, 1923, in Rowan County, Mrs. Linder was a daughter of the late Couram E. and Vernie Teeter. She was educated in the Rowan County schools. Retired from Rose’s Department Stores, she was a homemaker. She earlier attended Stallings Memorial Baptist Church.

Her husband, Willis Deaton “Deat” Linder, died Jan. 26, 1995.

Survivors include sons Harold Linder, Salisbury, Willis D. Linder Jr., Statesville, and William L. Ellison, Boise, Idaho; daughter Cora Nadine Teeter, Willard, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Agnes B. Pell

WINSTON-SALEM — Agnes Branson Pell, 1199 Hayes Forest Drive, Apt. 306, mother of Gwyn Pell Bottoms, Salisbury, died Wednesday (Sept. 5, 2001) at Forsyth Memorial Hospital.

Services: 3 p.m. Saturday, First Baptist Church, Ramseur. The body will be placed in the church at 2. Burial, Sunset Knoll Cemetery.

Visitation: At the home of Katherine Maples, 1510 Main St., Ramseur.

Lillian Linker Sechler

KANNAPOLIS — The funeral is today for Lillian Linker Sechler, 88, formerly of 5388 Sam Broadway Loop, who died Wednesday (Sept. 5, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.

Born April 2, 1913, Mrs. Sechler was a daughter of the late Abe and Mary Holshouser Linker. She retired from Cannon Mills Co. pillowcase department.

A member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church, she was a former Sunday school teacher.

She was preceded in death by husbands Howard W. Milam and Bob Sechler; son Raymond Howard Milam; daughter Mary Faye Milam; and several stepchildren.

Survivors include three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a stepson; and several step-grandchildren.

Services: 3:30 today, Whitley’s Funeral Home chapel, Kannapolis, conducted by the Rev. Coy Privette. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.

Visitation: 2:30-3:30 today at the funeral home.

 

Steve Swicegood

LINWOOD — Homer Steve Swicegood, 51, Snider Road, died Thursday (Sept. 6, 2001) at his home after several days of critical illness.

Born Oct. 30, 1949, in Rutherford County, Mr. Swicegood was a son of Annie Smith Swicegood, Lexington, and the late Junie Homer Swicegood. A member of Westside Baptist Church, he was employed with PPG Industries for 30 years.

His son, Darrin Lewis Swicegood, preceded him in death.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include wife Ginger Walser Swicegood; son Steve Swicegood Jr., of the home; daughter Wendy Leigh Swicegood, of the home; brother Dale Swicegood,Lexington; and sister Pansy Rummage,Lexington.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Westside Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Glen Sanford and the Rev. Gary Phelps. Burial, Barnes Cemetery, Churchland.

Visitation: 6-8 tonight, Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington. At other times the family will be at the home on Snider Road.

Moses B. Yarsieh Jr.

The funeral will be Saturday for Moses Barsee Yarsieh Jr., 26, 737 Victory St., who died July 26, 2001, at Davie County Urgent Care, Mocksville.

Born Sept. 18, 1974, in Liberia, West Africa, Mr. Yarsieh was a son of the late Moses Barsee and Frances Wright Yarsieh. He was a graduate of Glover High School, Gbarnga, Liberia, West Africa.

Survivors include wife Regina Flumo Yarsieh; and sister Yassah Roberts, Salisbury.

Services: Noon Saturday at Tower of Power Holy Church. Burial at Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation: 8:30 tonight until midnight at Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home.
