This letter is a recommendation to elect Paul Bessent to the Kannapolis City Council.
I met Mr. Bessent when I turned 16 and got my license. My dad had talked to me about the responsibilities of a license but he thought maybe an outsider could make a better impression on me. Mr. Bessent had volunteered to talk to me so my dad took him up on his offer.
I saw Paul after business hours one day. We talked for over two hours about my responsibilities as a driver, defensive driving, vehicle maintenance, safety, what to do in an accident, etc. I learned a lot that day, things that have come in handy in the seven years since that meeting.
However, I was most impressed that Mr. Bessent took the time to know me. He didn’t have to do that; he made that time for me. It showed a level of dedication beyond just business; it showed a commitment rarely seen in this day and age.
Over the seven years since that first meeting I have learned a great deal from Paul. While he is always professional and “Johnny on the spot” when an insurance question comes up, he is also an insightful, thoughtful person with ideas that should be embraced as Kannapolis moves forward into an uncertain future.
So, on Nov. 6, make your vote count. Vote for Paul Bessent for City Council of Kannapolis.
