As the municipal election approaches, I hear some citizens say it doesn’t really matter whom we elect as mayor of Kannapolis. But the opposite is true. The person we choose will have a great impact on the direction and progress that our city will make.
I do not put as much faith in what a candidate says about an issue as I do in how he votes on an issue. Having served on the Kannapolis City Council for the past four years, I have watched the two major candidates for mayor in action and it is easy to see the future of Kannapolis based upon which one we choose.
When it came to voting on budget funding for the current year: One candidate voted for marketing the business park and creating new jobs — one voted against. One candidate voted for parks and expanding our recreational opportunities — one voted against. One candidate voted for ordinances to help the city get a grip on growth — one voted against.
If you were present at all the council meetings, it would be clear as to our choice. To continue our progress and future improvements, I urge you to support the re-election of Mayor Ray Moss for mayor of Kannapolis. His leadership has been instrumental in the many successes the city has gained over the last four years. He has a true love for this city and a vision to see it succeed. Your vote will be well placed with a vote for Ray Moss.
