Salisbury needs experienced leaders

SALISBURY POST

I have enjoyed watching the present City Council work over the past few years. A lot of groundwork has been done to prepare Salisbury and Rowan County for the inevitable growth that is coming from Charlotte. Having lived in Atlanta for 10 years and then Gastonia for six before moving here, it is a relief to witness leadership that is planning for the future rather than reacting to unexpected growth.

I participated in the workshops that were held when forming the Vision 2020 Plan. A lot of time, energy and many volunteer hours were invested into creating this plan that will protect and improve the quality of life that we value for our future generations.

This makes it imperative that we all vote on Election Day. Re-elect all of the incumbents: Susan Kluttz, Pete Kennedy, Bill Burgin, and Paul Woodson. These folks have done an outstanding job and we need them to keep up the good work.

Elect Mark Lewis to fill the vacancy left by Scott Maddox. Mark has served on the planning board for seven years and no one can bring more experience to the council. I have known Mark for several years and have witnessed firsthand his strong commitment to Salisbury and its future.

During these tough times we need experienced leadership to stay the course.
