Bessent for council

SALISBURY POST

I am writing to endorse the candidacy of Paul Bessent for City Council of Kannapolis.

For over 20 years Mr. Bessent has been an active and productive citizen in our community. He has established a successful State Farm Insurance Agency that has grown over the years and employs a staff committed to customer service. These are the trademarks of excellent management.

In addition to his business success, Mr. Bessent has given back to the community in countless ways. In an age of voter apathy, Paul set about to reverse this course in his own way. In 2000 Paul took the idea of Kids Voting to the Cabarrus County Chamber of Commerce which they embraced. Paul chaired the committee that exposed 25,000 k-12 graders in the Cabarrus County and Kannapolis City Schools to the importance of voting. In a mock election over 7,000 students voted. Paul’s efforts in this endeavor to educate children on the value of participating in the elector process are an example of the kind of commitment we want and need in the leaders of Kannapolis as we move into the 21st century.

I encourage everyone to vote for Paul Bessent for City Council of Kannapolis on Nov. 6.
