KANNAPOLIS — Robert L. “Bob” Dancy, 210 Northcrest Street, died Thursday (Oct. 4, 2001) at Duke Medical Center, Durham.

Jimmy Ray Harris
CLEVELAND — Jimmy Ray Harris, 56, Cleveland, died Thursday (Oct. 4, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, after a month of serious illness.
Born Sept. 14, 1945, in Iredell County, Mr. Harris was a son of James “Pete” Harris, Statesville, and the late Ruth Horn Harris Gaston. He was educated in the Iredell County schools.
In his early life he was a carpenter and later was an automobile restorer for Tops &Trends Inc. He was a member of Cleveland First Baptist Church
Survivors, in addition to his father, include wife Elizabeth Kurfees Harris, whom he married Dec. 31, 1964; sons Jeffrey Ray and Wesley Daryl Harris, both of Mooresville; daughter Glenda Rochelle Harris Lejeune, Statesville; sisters Betsy Harris Johnston, Greensboro, and Diane Speaks, Lake Norman; and 10 grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Cleveland First Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Glenn Dancy III, pastor. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30. Burial, family plot at Cleveland City Cemetery.
Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight, Lyerly Funeral Home,Salisbury. At other times, the family will be at the home in Cleveland.

Peggy P. Heintz
KANNAPOLIS — The funeral will be Saturday for Peggy Peninger Heintz, 76, 1112 Grove St., who died Thursday (Oct. 4, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born April 10, 1925, in Salisbury, Mrs. Heintz was a daughter of the late John A. and Minnie Williams Peninger. She began her employment with Cabarrus Bank and Trust in 1943 and retired in 1991 from First Union Bank.
A member of Second Presbyterian Church, she taught Sunday school, was clerk of the session, president of the women of the church and worked with Brownie Scouts. She received a life membership in the Presbyterian Women.
A daughter, Roseanna Heintz, preceded her in death.
Survivors include husband Everett E. Heintz; son Kim E. Heintz, Concord; and two grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Lady’s Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Brant C. Piper. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Kim E. Heintz, 2918 Sapp Road, Concord.

Rose B. Henley
MAIDEN — Rose Barringer Henley, 79, of Salisbury, formerly of 2641 Bud Arndt Road, died Wednesday (Oct. 3, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.
Born Oct. 13, 1921, in Catawba County, Mrs. Henley was a daughter of the late Noah and Cordia Abernathy Barringer. She retired from the hosiery industry and was a member of Mount Ruhama Baptist Church.
Her husband, Boyce Irving Henley, preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons Boyce I. Henley II, Cornelius, and Noah Richard Henley, Salisbury, with whom she made her home; brothers Joe Barringer, Conover, and Max Barringer, Chattanooga,Tenn.; sisters Alean Barringer Detter, Maiden, and Nancy Barringer Burke, Newton; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Mount Ruhama Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Larry Burns and the Rev. Charles R. Brawley. Burial, church cemetery.
Visitation: In the church fellowship hall after the service.

Irene B. Herrin
KANNAPOLIS — Irene Barnhardt Herrin, 87, 250 Bishop Lane, Concord, formerly of Kannapolis, died Wednesday (Oct. 3, 2001) at Brian Center of Concord.
Born Aug. 15, 1914, in Concord, Mrs. Herrin was a daughter of the late Millard K. and Ollie Mae Long Barnhardt. She retired from Woolworth Co.
Her husband, Troy M. Herrin, died March 12, 1979.
Survivors include daughter Janice E. Herrin, Homosassa, Fla.; son James Richard Herrin, Satellite Beach, Fla.; sisters Ruth Louise Taylor, Concord, and Helen Lavonia Todd, Charlottesville, Va.; stepsister Patsy Roach, Concord; brothers Malcolm King Barnhardt, Waynesville, Carl S. Barnhardt, Concord, Harry James and Toledo Danner Barnhardt, both of Kannapolis; stepbrother Charles Barnhardt, China Grove; and two grandchildren.

George V. McDaniel
CHARLOTTE — George V. McDaniel, 58, Charlotte, a native of East Spencer, died Wednesday (Oct. 3, 2001) at Presbyterian Hospital.
Born in Rowan County, he was a teacher.

John Alexander McKibbin, 10 weeks old, of Salisbury, died Thursday (Oct. 4, 2001) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem.

Virginia W. Peeler
The funeral will be Saturday for Virginia Walters Peeler, 87, formerly of Faith Road, who died Thursday (Oct. 4, 2001) at Lutheran Home at Trinity Road.
Born March 30, 1914, in Kannapolis,Mrs. Peeler was a daughter of the late Sye Johnson and Sarah Allison Roof Walters. She attended Salisbury schools and was a Boyden High School graduate.
A homemaker, she kept children in her home for 30 years. She was a member of Stallings Memorial Baptist Church, Homemakers Sunday School Class and Young at Heart Senior Citizens Club.
Her husband, James Clifton Peeler, died May 15, 1958.
Survivors include son James Clifton “Jim” Peeler Jr., Salisbury; daughters Arlene P. Taylor, Rockwell, and Marlene P. Spencer and Brenda P. Bond, both of Salisbury; brothers Charlie Robertson Walters, Salisbury, and Jack Douglas Walters, Rockwell; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
