It is with interest and sadness that I have just finished reading “Catawba 150 years: The Institution and The People,” Salisbury Post, August 27, 2001, which I received from a friend in Salisbury.
The interest is how Catawba ever managed to continue its existence from the 1850s until the mid-1920s. It’s a wonder that it did.
The sadness is that nary a mention was made of the three great lights of Catawba: Dr. Bruce A. Wentz, Dr. David E. Faust, and Dr. Raymond Jerkins. Yet, you managed to spill lots of ink on many lesser lights.
’Tis such a pity.
