Beulah M. Brewer
The funeral will be Wednesday for Beulah Mae Misenheimer Brewer, 87, Salisbury, who died Sunday (Nov. 18, 2001) at her home after a period of declining health.
Born Aug. 22, 1914, in Rowan County, Mrs. Brewer, a daughter of the late Adolphus N. and Murtie D.L. Earnhardt Misenheimer, was educated in the Rowan and Stanly county schools.
A nursing assistant, she began her employment at Hefner VAMedical Center when it opened in 1953. She worked there until she retired 24 years later.
She was a lifelong member of Faith Lutheran Church and WELCA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Craven H. Brewer, and a daughter, Gloria Jean Brewer.
Survivors include sons Craven H. Brewer Jr., Salisbury, Jerry Wayne Brewer, Albemarle, and Terry Lane Brewer, Rockwell; daughters Linda Modlin, Granite Quarry, Barbara Ann Brewer, Salisbury, Nancy L. Threehouse, Merritt Island, Fla., and Mary Catherine Edgin, Tacoma, Wash.; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Faith Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Clarence Sifford, interim pastor. Burial, family plot in church cemetery.
Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight, Lyerly Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of daughter Linda Modlin, 513 Mulberry Lane, Granite Quarry.

Mary F. Christenbury
KANNAPOLIS — Mary Inez Frye Christenbury, 87, formerly of Goble Street, died Monday (Nov. 19, 2001) at Universal Healthcare, Concord.
Born May 2, 1914, in Catawba County, Mrs. Christenbury was a daughter of the late John Quincy and Bessie Jane Sherrill Frye. She was a former childcare worker and an active member of Kannapolis United Methodist Church until her health declined.
Her husband, W.J. Christenbury, died in 1968.
Survivors include sons Harold Christenbury, Kannapolis, and James Christenbury, Charlotte; and two grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Whitley’s Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Susan German. Burial, Concord United Methodist Church cemetery, Tarrell.
Visitation: 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Harold Christenbury, 207 York Ave.

Charlotte L. Dixon
Charlotte Leach Dixon, 81, 539 Cedar St., formerly of Baltimore, Md., died Saturday (Nov. 17, 2001) at her home after a period of declining health.
Born May 21, 1920, in Rowan County, Mrs. Dixon, a daughter of the late Baxter and Lereen Henderson Leach, was educated in the Rowan County schools. She was a retired telephone operator and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include brothers John Leach, Mocksville, and Baxter J. and Mack A. Leach, both of Salisbury; and sisters Mildred Reide, New York City, Willie M. Luckey, Neptune, N.J., Lucille Geter and Helen Ragul, both of Woodleaf, Sadie Chunn, Barbara Hairston, Phyllis Leach and Lillian Summers, all of Salisbury, Ada Morrison, Statesville, and Patricia Thunderburg, China Grove.

MOCKSVILLE — Lawrence Albert Link, 80, U.S. Hwy. 64 E., died Sunday (Nov. 18, 2001) at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 21, 1921, in Davie County, Mr. Link, a son of the late Baxter C. and Mary Lefler Link, served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He retired from Ingersoll-Rand of Mocksville, where he was a past recipient of the Employee of the Year award. He attended Fork Baptist Church.
His wife, Amanda Danner Link, preceded him in death.
Survivors include stepson Howard C. Danner, Mocksville; stepdaughters Nellie Bailey, Mocksville, and Helen Davis, Advance; six stepgrandchildren; and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren.

CHINA GROVE — The funeral will be Wednesday for Jarrett Nathan Schenck, 25, 708 Mitchell Ave., who died Sunday (Nov. 18, 2001).
Born Jan. 4, 1976, in Rowan County, Mr. Schenck was a son of Vickie Kay Knight Burrage, Concord, and Marlon A. Schenck, Salisbury. He was a graduate of South Rowan High School and served in the U.S. Marines.
A Baptist, he was formerly employed at Freightliner, Cleveland, and with Bost Trucking Co.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include wife Angela Kerley Schenck, Kannapolis; daughter Alexis Schenck, Granite Quarry; stepson Brandon Kerley, Kannapolis; sister Melissa S. Schenck, Kannapolis; stepmother Shelby Schenck, Salisbury; paternal grandparents J. Lee and Sadie Linker Schenck, China Grove; and maternal grandparents John and Mary Stiller Knight, Salisbury.

Edgar ‘Ed’ Ware
The funeral will be Friday for Edgar “Ed” Ware, 83, formerly of 4618 Martha’s Ridge Drive, Charlotte, who died Friday (Nov. 16, 2001) at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation after several weeks of serious illness.
Born April 9, 1918, in Coosa County, Ala., Mr. Ware, a son of the late Harrison and Rachel Burch Ware, was educated in the Coosa County schools. He was a member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church.
Retired, he had been employed by Cone Mills and as a part-time brick mason.
Survivors include sons Ricky Ware, Concord, Shunta Ware, Charlotte, Lamont Ware, Seattle, Wash., and Ernest and James O. Ware, both of Chicago, Ill.; daughters Adriaenne E. Ware-Dallis, Salisbury, and Tomeaka Ware-Long, East Spencer; and 20 grandchildren.
