Gambling harms

SALISBURY POST

It’s quite apparent that people gamble all the time. People drive much faster than the posted speed limit and pass when it’s not safe to do so.

They run red lights on a regular basis; weave around railroad crossing arms to beat the train; drink and try to drive and even take drugs knowing they kill.

They continue to play the game of Russian Roulette and gamble on just one more day without knowing Jesus as their personal savior.

Yes, people gamble everyday. It just doesn’t make good sense and neither does the lottery. There is no such thing as “harmless” gambling.

— Rev. Edward Bitner
Salisbury

The writer is pastor of Oakland Heights Baptist Church.
