On May 19, the Boy Scout troop from our church attended the Bicycle Safety Camp at First Presbyterian Church. After they finished with the camp activities, they went on a bike ride. While they were riding down Bringle Ferry Road, a black minivan came flying past them, throwing ice on two of the boys. The van turned around, came back by and the passenger leaned out the window with a pole and struck one of the boys in the head. This child was hit with enough force to damage his helmet.
This is not a funny joke or prank. That could have seriously injured this child.
I cannot express what kind of coward I think this person is. I would like the driver of the van to know that his vehicle description has been turned over to the Sheriff’s Department and the boys and all their families are on the lookout for this vehicle. With any luck, we will find out who you are.
