Rebecca Allen
Rebecca Yancey Allen, 88, formerly of Salisbury,
died Friday (May 11, 2001) at Brunswick Cove Nursing Home, Leland, NC.
Born April 9, 1913, in Salisbury, she was the
daughter of the late Rachel Mauney and Richard Baker Yancey. She was educated in
the Salisbury City Schools and at Sullins College in Bristol, Va.
She was employed by Stanback Co., Imperial Life
Insurance Co. and the Soil Conservation for several years before retiring.
She was a life-long member of First United
Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was president of the Susan
Wesley Bible Sunday School Class and also served as treasurer of the class. She
volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the Friendship House.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband,
William Edward Allen Jr., on May 11, 1985.
Survivors include a son, William Edward Allen
III, Oak Island, NC, and three grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United
Methodist Church conducted by the Rev Thomas Griffis, senior minister.
Entombment will be at Rowan Memorial Park.
Visitation: 7:30-9 p.m. Monday at Summersett
Funeral Home.

LEXINGTON – Veigh Irene Grubb Barnes, 91, Pete
Barnes Road, died Saturday (May 12, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Davidson Funeral Home,

Baptist Church Cemetery.

after a year of declining health.

SPENCER – Ettie Virginia Hair, formerly of
Spencer, died Friday (May 11, 2001)at Harbor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Of
Lewes, Delaware.
Mrs. Hair will be brought to Summersett Funeral
Home for completion of arrangements.
Michael James Patrick
CHINA GROVE – Michael James Patrick, 28, Hwy.
152 East, died Friday (May 11, 2001) at Carolina Medical Center after suffering
with Ewing’s Sarcoma Cancer for two years.
Born Aug. 26, 1972, in St.Louis, he was the son
of Patricia Needham Mishak and step-father Kent Mishak, Rockwell and Randall
Patrick, St. Louis. He was a graduate of South Rowan High School and worked as a
prison guard for the NCDepartment of Corrections.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a
grandfather, Albert Patrick, St. Louis; fiance, Beth Yattaw, China Grove; one
step-brother Wayne Mishak, China Grove; and sisters, Michelle Burrow and
Courtney Patrick, both of St. Louis, Renee Steele, Statesville, and Rebecca
Mishak, Rockwell.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Linn Honeycutt
Northcrest Chapel. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight at Linn Honeycutt
Funeral Home.
Everett Rodenhuis
INDIANAPOLIS – Everett Rodenhuis, 78, died
Friday (May 11, 2001).
He is the father of Terrance Lee Rodenhuis of
Salisbury.
Services: 4 p.m. today at Shirley Brothers
Thompson Road Chapel. The body will be cremated.
Visitation: 1:30 p.m. today until the time of the
service at the Chapel.
