Daisy S. Earnhardt
The funeral will be Wednesday for Daisy Stauber Earnhardt, 84, Salisbury, who died Sunday (May 6, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center after six months of declining health and three days of serious illness.
Born Sept. 17, 1916, in Spencer, Mrs. Earnhardt was a daughter of the late Thomas Lash and Sallie Smithdeal Stauber. She was educated in the Spencer schools and was a graduate of Spencer High School.
Employed for 25 years with Carolina Maid, Granite Quarry, she had also worked at Manhattan Shirt Co., Lexington. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and attended senior citizen’s bingo at Rufty-Holmes Senior Center.
Her husband, Morris Eugene Earnhardt, died March 27, 1966; a son, Robert Eugene “Bob” Earnhardt, died Dec. 18, 2000; and a great-grandson died Jan. 15, 1991.
Survivors include sons Charles “Bill” Earnhardt, Salisbury, and Jerry Earnhardt, Rockwell; daughters Judie E. Loman and Shirley E. Lanning, both of Salisbury; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services: Graveside, 1 p.m. Wednesday, Rowan Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. Bill Cutshaw, Holy Power Church, Rockwell.
Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight, Summersett Funeral Home,Salisbury. At other times the family will be at the home.

Kevin Mark Eudy
NEW LONDON —Kevin Mark Eudy, 40, 34415 Springdale Road, died Monday (May 7, 2001).
Born April 14, 1961, in Albemarle, Mr. Eudy was a son of Donald Steven Eudy and Mary Burleson Eudy of Albemarle. He was a carpenter.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include wife Lynette Holmes Eudy; son Dustyn Eudy, of the home; daughter Marissa Eudy, of the home; and brother Richard Scott Eudy, Albemarle.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Hartsell Funeral Home chapel, Albemarle, conducted by the Rev. Curran Welch and the Rev. Martha Welch.

Joe Evans
KANNAPOLIS — Joseph Rayfield “Joe” Evans, 74, 103 W. 20th St., died Monday (May 7, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born June 28, 1926, in Comer, Ga., Mr. Evans was a son of the late Carl Goss and Allie Belle Landers Evans. He retired in 1989 after 39 years with Concord Telephone Co.
He was a member of Blackwelder Park Baptist Church and had formerly served as a Scout leader. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of Poston Perkins VFWPost 8989.
Survivors include wife Janice Irby Evans; son Randy Evans, Landis; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services: 3 p.m. Thursday, Blackwelder Park Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Stan Welch. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.

CLEVELAND —Maggie Wood Gaither, 87, formerly of 504 E. Main St., died Tuesday (May 8, 2001) at Salisbury Lutheran Nursing Home.

David M. Harwood
KANNAPOLIS — David Marshall Harwood, 77, 520 Collins St., died Monday (May 7, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born Sept. 13, 1923, in Cabarrus County, Mr. Harwood was a son of the late James Franklin and Dezzie Holt Harwood. He retired as an agent from the former State Capital Life Insurance Co., later known as Durham Life Insurance Co. He had also worked with Charlotte Liberty Mutual Insurance Co.
He was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
His wife, Katherine Norris Harwood, died July 4, 1993.
Survivors include daughter Mary Etta Musselwhite, Kannapolis; son David M. Harwood Jr., Kannapolis; sisters Ruby Tyson, Shirley Harwood and Linda Plyler, all of Kannapolis, and Patricia Ann Aycock, China Grove; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

GRANITE QUARRY — Virginia Weaver Williams, 71, 815 Dunns Mountain Road, died Monday (May 7, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, after three years of serious illness.
Born Jan. 25, 1930, in Rowan County, Mrs. Williams, a daughter of the late Julius W. and Lillian Thurston Weaver, was educated in the Rowan County schools. She retired in 1986 from Cannon Mills Inc., Kannapolis, and had previously worked at the Swink Plant. She was of the Church of God faith.
Survivors include son Tommy Williams, China Grove; daughters Pat Wells, Spencer, and Jennifer Springer, Hudson, Wis.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
