Herman Lee Weaver
CHINA GROVE — The funeral will be Friday for Herman Lee Weaver, 78, formerly of 185 Old Stagecoach Road, who died Wednesday (March 28, 2001) at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.
Born March 16, 1923, in Rowan County, Mr. Weaver, a son of the late Arthur Lee and Oney “Tot” Kimball Weaver, was a graduate of Landis High School, Landis. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army/Air Force as an aircraft mechanic for B-52s.
He retired as vice president and cashier at Cabarrus Bank &Trust Co., Kannapolis, after 45 years. He was a member of Lutheran Chapel Church, where he held many leadership positions.
His wife of 51 years, Margaret Goodin Weaver, died July 15, 1998.
Survivors include son Terry L.Weaver, Hilton Head, S.C.; daughters Karen W. Amos, Jamestown, and Olivia W. Amos, High Point; sister KathleenW. Patterson, China Grove; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Sarah Blevins Hopkins
The funeral will be Saturday for Sarah Mazie Blevins Hopkins, 92, Salisbury, who died Tuesday (March 27, 2001) at Autumn Care of Salisbury after a period of declining health.
BornApril 14, 1908, in Ashe County, Mrs. Hopkins, a daughter of the late Fleming and Malvina Woodie Blevins, was educated in the Ashe County schools.
She retired from Cone Mills after 20 years and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Her husband,Roy Thomas Hopkins, died April 7, 1976.
Survivors include son Roy Thomas Hopkins Jr., Concord; daughters Pansy Webb, Anderson,S.C., and Gayzell Rush, Vienna, Va.; sister Mary Bare, Salisbury; and four grandchildren.

KANNAPOLIS —The funeral will be Friday for Genevieve Roark Lazenby, Kannapolis, formerly of Concord Place, Concord, who died Tuesday (March 27, 2001) at Huntersville Oaks,Hunters-ville.
Born Jan. 1, 1920, in Cherokee County, S.C., Mrs. Lazenby was a daughter of the late Horace D. and Hattie Zimmerman Roark. She was a member of Midway United Methodist Church.
She was employed by Cannon Mills for 45 years. During World War II, she was one of the “Rosie the Riverters” for Glenn L. Martin Aircraft, Baltimore, Md.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Lazenby, and a granddaughter.
Survivors include daughter Joyce Gillon, Charlotte; sister Earcelle Vinson,Greenville, S.C.; and one grandson.

Born April 13, 1916, in Davidson County, Mr. McBride, a son of the late Henry Lee and Louvenia Easter McBride, was educated in the Rowan County schools. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
Retired from North Carolina Finishing Co., he was a member ofSalem Lutheran Church and the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School Class.

An Iredell County native, Mr. Morrow was born Jan. 24, 1921, to the late Hoyle and Nona Benfield Morrow. He was formerly employed with Carolina Motor Co. and Young Ford, Charlotte, and more recently worked at Leith Ford Co.

Born May 20, 1932, in Davie County, Mr. Julian was a son of the late Willie Julian and Betty Barnes Julian McClamrock. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church, China Grove.
He retired as a sheet metal worker and was a member of Union Local No. 5 Sheet Metal Workers of Knoxville, Tenn. He served in the U.S. Army during the 50s.
A son, Keith Julian, died in 1994, and another son, Bill Julian Jr., died in 1998.

Born May 2, 1915, in Rowan County, Mr. Seaford, a son of the late Clarence Monroe and Lillie Wright Seaford, was educated in the Kannapolis city schools. While serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he fought in six battles: Algeria-France Morocco; Tunisia; Sicily; Normandy; Northern France; and the Rhineland. He received the EAMET Campaign Medal with six Bronze Service Stars.
A member of St. Enoch Lutheran Church, he was employed at Cannon Mills Co. Plant 1 bleachery department and filter plant for 35 years before his 1981 retirement.
Survivors include brother Clyde Seaford, Kannapolis.
