Lillian Fox Smith
Lillian Fox Smith, 84, Spanish Arms Apartments, died Monday (March 26, 2001) at RowanRegional Medical Center after 10 years of declining health and a brief period of serious illness.
Born Sept. 23, 1916, in Cooleemee, Miss Smith was a daughter of the late John Ellis and Lily Fox Smith. She was educated in the Davie County schools and at Greensboro College.
Employed in the North Carolina public schools for more than 30 years, most of her career was spent at Spencer Elementary School. When she retired, she was a guidance counselor at North Rowan Middle School.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Jeanette Snider
LINWOOD — Mildred Jeanette Leonard Snider, 63, Will Snider Road, died Monday (March 26, 2001) at Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem.
Born Jan. 2, 1938, in Davidson County, Mrs. Snider was a daughter of Lester Leonard, Midway, and the late Helen Mae Hilton Leonard. She retired from ASCS, an agricultural group, after 37 years. She was secretary of Longmeadow Dairy Farm.
A member of Tyro United Methodist Church, she was treasurer of the Methodist Women, a member of the Circle of Love and Tommy Michael’s Christ Care.
Survivors, in addition to her father, include husband Clydie Snider; daughter Luanne Wilson, Churchland; sons Kent, Shane and Tracy Snider, all of Churchland; brother Allen “Pete” Leonard, Midway; and eight grandchildren.
Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Tyro United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Claude Kaylor and the Rev. Chris Clontz. Burial, Clyde and Ruby Snider Family Cemetery.
Visitation: 6:30-8:30 tonight, Piedmont Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home onWill Snider Road.
