Coleen Howell Dull
MOCKSVILLE — Coleen Howell Dull, 68, N.C.
Highway 801 North, died Saturday (March 10, 2001) at Forsyth Medical Center,
Winston-Salem.
Born July 24, 1932. in Yadkin County, Mrs. Dull
was a daughter of the late Willie Sanford and Ellie Hollar Howell. A 1950
graduate of Mocksville High School, she had retired from AT&T after more
than 25 years of service.
A member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist
Church, she was treasurer of the United Methodist Women and chairperson of the
Church History Committee.
Her husband, Floyd Vestal Dull, died in 1976.
Survivors include son Vestal Wayne Dull,
Mocksville; daughter Marcheta Williams, Mocksville; brothers Harley, Kenneth and
Gary Howell, all of Mocksville, and Harry Lee Howell, Harmony; six
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services: Memorial, 11 a.m. Wednesday, Center
United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dianne Marsden. The body will be
cremated. Burial, church cemetery.

James Ralph Ruff
KANNAPOLIS — James Ralph Ruff, 70, 2102 W. C
St., died Friday (March 9, 2001) at his home following a one-month illness.
Born May 7, 1930, in Catawba County, Mr. Ruff was
a son of the late William and Ethel Bryant Ruff. Educated in the Catawba County
schools, he had retired in 1988 from Cannon Mills, where he was employed as a
fixer in the finishing department. He later worked in the landscaping and
grounds maintenance department for Kannapolis Country Club. He was a member of
Lane Street Church of God.
His wife, Glenna Wike Ruff, died in 1991.
Survivors include daughters Janice Brady and Judy
Mangum, both of China Grove, Joyce Lear, Wilmington, Jeanette Krotzer, Byron,
Ga., and Joanne Middleton, Kannapolis; sisters Evelyn Wilson, Tega Cay, S.C.,
Arlie Sorrell, Kannapolis, and Carolyn Harris, Mooresville; 15 grandchildren;
and 21 great-grandchildren.

Annie Rose Moore
Annie Rose Moore, 87, 320 Messner St., died
Saturday (March 10, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center after an illness of
several days.
Born Dec. 17, 1913, in Blacksburg, S.C., Miss
Moore was a daughter of the late Lonnie J. and Rosa Lee Ellis Moore.
She was a graduate of J.C. Price High School and
LaMay Beauty College in Winston-Salem, where she later retired as an instructor.
She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and the Beautician Association.
Survivors include brothers Ernest Moore, Miami,
Fla., and Terry Moore, Salisbury; and sisters Lilliesteen Harris and Ellen
Dalton, both of Salisbury, and Albany Jordan, North Pole, Ark.

died Monday (March 12, 2001) at Brightmoor Nursing Center, Salisbury.

Delano ‘Gene’ Overman
Delano Eugene “Gene” Overman, 59, Salisbury,
died Sunday (March 11, 2001) at his home.
Born Feb. 13, 1942, in Rowan County, Mr. Overman
was a son of the late Walter James and Rebecca Spry Overman.
A graduate of Woodleaf High School, he served
three years in the U.S. Army. He worked for Celanese Fiber from 1966 to 1975 and
then owned and operated Wood Creations on Mahaley Avenue until 1995. He then
worked for Salisbury Mill Work until he retired because of his health.
Mr. Overman was a member of Franklin Presbyterian
Church, where he was a member of the Men’s Sunday School Class, the Men of the
Church and the church choir.
His first wife, Jane Antoinne Overman, died Feb.
9, 1995.
Survivors include wife Brenda Everhart Overman,
whom he married July 6, 1998; sons Delano Eugene “Dell” Overman and Donald
Keith Overman, both of Salisbury; stepdaughter Leslie Pearman, Waynesville;
brothers Wayne, James and Dwight Overman, all of Salisbury; three grandchildren;
and two step-grandchildren.
Services: Memorial service, 10 a.m. Tuesday,
Franklin Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Larry Summey, pastor.
Private burial, church cemetery.
Visitation: Following the service at the church.
