Corbin Hills Golf Club will hold its men’s club championship tournament Saturday and Sunday.
The tourney, sponsored by the Corbin Hills Men’s Golf Association, will be a 36-hole medal play event starting at 10 a.m. each day.
Flights will be determined after Saturday’s round, and prizes will be given for low gross and net scores in each flight.
A senior division will be held for those age 55 and over.
The entry fee is $40 for association members, $40 for non-members age 21 or younger and $70 for other non-members, $30 of which goes toward a membership. Cart fees are included.
The entry deadline is Wednesday.

MEETING: The Corbin Hills Men’s Golf Association will hold a meeting at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the clubhouse. A golf outing will follow.

LESSONS AVAILABLE: Corbin Hills has announced that Jay Davis is now available for golf lessons and club repair.
A 1996 graduate of East Rowan High School, where he was a member of the golf team, Davis is now playing professionally on the Triangle Tour.
Davis was previously assistant pro at the Country Club of Salisbury, where he was in charge of junior clinics.
Davis will be available by appointment.

AMVETS: The 17th annual AMVETS Spring Scholarship Golf Tournament has been scheduled Saturday at McCanless Golf Club.
The tourney is sponsored by Rockwell AMVETS Post No. 845 and Piedmont Distributors.
The captain’s-choice tourney will have an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
The entry fee of $40 per person includes green and cart fees and a meal. The entry deadline is 5 p.m. Thursday with the field limited to the first 128 registered golfers.

LIONS CLASSIC: The 17th annual Salisbury Lions/Time Warner Cable Golf Classic will be held at 1:30 p.m. June 16 at Corbin Hills.
The entry fee of $40 per person includes green and cart fees.
Prizes will be awarded to members of the top three teams. Golfers making the first hole in one on designated holes can win a 2001 Pontiac/GMC or 2001 Buck, compliments of Brad Farrah Pontiac-Nissan-GMC and Salisbury Motor Co.
The tournament will help raise funds for Lionism.

JUNIOR EVENT: The Rowan County Junior Golf Championship is scheduled July 18-19 at Corbin Hills.
The tournament is open to any resident of Rowan County under the age of 18 with competition in 9&under, 10-11, 12-14 and 15-17 age groups.
The entry fee of $15 includes both rounds.

COUNTRY CLUB LADIES: Avice Bost, Camille Reische, Nancy Graham and a blind partner teamed up to take first place last week in the Country Club of Salisbury women’s best ball foursome tourney.
Joan Harris, Elaine Fuller, Shirley Terry and Ruth Meade took second.
A member-guest tourney will be played Thursday.

CORBIN HILLS LADIES: Shirley Baucom took first place in the Corbin Hills Ladies Golf Association’s Grace Rodgers Spring Handicap Tournament, beating Cindy Carmazzi 1-up in 19 holes in the match play finals.
Marie Pugh topped Mary Seaford in the consolation finals.
Susan Morris took low gross honors in the weekly tournament, while Seaford was second and Ruth Bowles third.
Low net went to Becky Isenhour, followed by Carla Swanson and Jean Hill.
Virginia Saintsing won low putts with Lucy Brown second and Wanda Sanders third.

HOLE IN ONE: Jason Hutchins got an ace during the recent Dale’s Sporting Goods tourney at Corbin Hills. He used a 7-iron for a hole in one on the par-3, 157-yard No. 2 hole. Darryl Coble, Clarence Shuler and Bryan Miller were witnesses.
