Arthur Gladden, 69,
737 Heiligtown Road, died Friday (June 1, 2001) at Wake Forest
University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, after eight weeks
of serious illness.

Jason D. Goodman
RICHFIELD — The
funeral will be Saturday for Jason Donald Goodman, 58, Richfield,
who died Wednesday (May 30, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center,
Salisbury.
Born Aug. 15, 1942,
in Iredell County, Mr. Goodman was a son of Curtis Rebecca Reep
Goodman, Salisbury Gardens, Salisbury, and the late William Allen
Goodman. He was educated at Boyden High School, Salisbury.
He retired from the
maintenance department of Packaging Services of Rockwell. A member
of East Corinth Baptist Church,Gold Hill, he was a former deacon. He
was a volunteer firefighter with Pooletown Fire Department and
co-owner of Family Crafts, Rockwell.
A son,Jeffrey Donald
Goodman, died in 1963.
Survivors, in
addition to his mother, include wife Mary Joyce Burr Goodman, whom
he married Dec. 2, 1962; sons Jonathan “Dwayne” and Jason Darren
Goodman, both of Richfield, and Clifton Robin Goodman, West End;
brothers Billie Ray Goodman, Salisbury, R.V. Eades, Kings Mountain,
Bobby and Steve Eades, both of Statesville; sisters Patty
Hiatt,Richfield, and Jessie Matlock,Statesville; and two
grandchildren.
Services: 4 p.m.,
Saturday,East Corinth Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Johnny
Daniel. The body will be placed in the church at 3:30. Burial,
church cemetery.
Visitation: 7-8:30
tonight, Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.At other times, the family
will be at the home of Jason Darren Goodman, Richfield.

Dennis James
McCorkle, 42, 309 Lafayette St., died Thursday (May 31, 2001) at
Hefner VA Medical Center after a day of serious illness.
Born Sept, 2, 1958,
in Mooresville, Mr. McCorkle was a son of Mary McCorkle Fleming and
a stepson of Carl Fleming of Salisbury. He was a graduate of Dunbar
High School, Mooresville, and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors, in
addition to his mother and stepfather, include brother Calvin
McCorkle, Atlanta, Ga.

Ann Cruse Puckett
CONCORD —Ann Cruse
Puckett, 64, Concord, died Thursday (May 31, 2001) at NorthEast
Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born July 11, 1936,
in Salisbury, Mrs. Puckett was a daughter of the late Greydon Dewey
and Audrey Kennedy Cruse.
Survivors include
husband James Graham Puckett III; daughters Mitzi Ann Stewart,
York,S.C., Jamie Karan Lee, Fuquay-Varina, and Lydia Jo Armenta, San
Diego, Calif.; brother Greydon D. Cruse, Charlotte; and four
grandchildren.
Services: Memorial, 3
p.m., Sunday, Incarnation Lutheran Church, Charlotte. The family
will hold private graveside services at Organ Lutheran Church,
Salisbury.
