Christina L. Bolden

LEXINGTON — Christina Lynn Bolden, 25, Leonard Road, died Monday (July 23, 2001) from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Davidson Funeral Home chapel. Burial, Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Visitation: 6-8 tonight at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home on Leonard Road.

Edward C. Hudson Jr.

Edward Carlos Hudson Jr., 64, 1030 Edgedale Drive, died Tuesday (July 24, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.

Born July 8, 1937, in Charlotte, Mr. Hudson, a son of the late Edward Carlos and Mary Haines Hudson, was educated in the Charlotte city schools. He attended Charlotte College, North Carolina State University and Clemson University.

A veteran, he served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was employed by Daniels Construction Co. and Suitt Construction Co. and later owned and operated Hudson Uniform Services on West Innes Street.

Survivors include wife Barbara Stephens Hudson, whom he married Sept. 25, 1965; sons Joseph Hunter Hudson,Rockwell, and Charles Edward Hudson, Faith; and one grandchild.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Summersett Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Larry Bolick, pastor, Shiloh United Church of Christ,Faith. Burial, Shiloh United Church of Christ cemetery.

Visitation: 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Jessie Brewer Ingram

KANNAPOLIS — Jessie Mae Brewer Ingram, 82, formerly of 1005 Centergrove Road, died Tuesday (July 24, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, after a brief period of declining health.

Born Sept. 24, 1918, in White County, Ga., Mrs. Ingram was a daughter of the late Charlie Daniel and Talitha Mae Byers Brewer and a stepdaughter of the late Nora Brewer.

She retired after many years as a cafeteria worker at the former Aycock Elementary School. She was a member of Shadybrook Baptist Church.

Her husband, John Franklin Ingram, died in 1976.

Survivors include daughter Sabra Reece, Concord; brother Roger Brewer, Dayton, Ohio; two grandsons; and one great-grandson.

Services: 7 p.m. Thursday, Whitley’s Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Charlie Littlejohn. Burial, 10 a.m. Friday, Carolina Memorial Park.

Visitation: 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Patricia Jones

KANNAPOLIS — Patricia Gay Kerley Jones, 41, 2604 Pennsylvania Ave., died Tuesday (July 24, 2001) at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte.

Lady’s Funeral Home is in charge.

 

‘Fred’ Milam

KANNAPOLIS — James “Fred” Milam, 79, 1305 Hinson St., died Monday (July 23, 2001) at Big Elm Retirement Center after three years of declining health.

Born March 16, 1922, in Wilkes County, Mr. Milam, a son of the late Juit Lester and Omi Foster Milam, served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Cannon Mills.

His wife, Lucy Bell Mills Milam, died Aug. 22, 1985.

Survivors include daughters Barbara Campbell, China Grove, and Jane Haney and Trisha Moss, both of Kannapolis; sisters Nawatha Turner and Delia Garmon, both of Jacksonville, Fla., and Georgia Moore, Kannapolis; brother Bill Milam, Kannapolis; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Lady’s Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Ken McQueen. Burial,Carolina Memorial Park.

Visitation: 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of Trisha Moss, 308 Eddleman Road.

William M. Myers

The funeral will be Thursday for William McArthur Myers, 90, Woodleaf Road, who died Monday (July 23, 2001)at his home after a period of declining health.

Born Sept. 20, 1910, in Davie County, Mr. Myers, a son of the late Jesse Oscar and Jane Broadway Myers, was educated in the Davie County schools. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church and Boots Hellard Sunday School Class.

In 1972, he retired from the city of Salisbury street department.

He was preceded in death by daughters Annie Pearl Myers, who died in 1933, and Glenda Mae Myers, who died in 1943.

Survivors include wife Ila Maie Martin Myers, whom he married Sept. 5, 1942; son Earl M. Myers, Fort Mill, S.C.; stepsons Samuel G. and Howard R.Martin, both of Salisbury; daughters Ethel Myers Beaver, Catawba, and Priscillia Myers McCullough, Mocksville; brothers Walter Myers, Woodleaf, and Hobert and Baxter Myers, both of Salisbury; sister Daisy M. Ridenhour, Cooleemee; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday,Enon Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Wayne Trexler, pastor, and the Rev. Ralph Jett. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30. Burial, church cemetery.

Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight, Summersett Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home on Woodleaf Road.

Louise C. Owings

KANNAPOLIS — Mary Louise Crider Owens, 79, formerly of Shady Lane, died Tuesday (July 24, 2001).

Stacy Phillips

MOCKSVILLE — Stacy Phillips, 59, Rolling Hills Lane, died Tuesday (July 24, 2001) at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, Winston-Salem.

Eaton Funeral Home is in charge.

 

Koua Neng Vang

NORWOOD — Koua Neng Vang, 45, 2210 Plank Road, died Tuesday (July 24, 2001) at Mercy Hospital, Charlotte.

Born March 14, 1956, in Laos, Mr. Vang was a son of the late Mee Xiong and Shong Cheng Vang. He formerly served in the Laos CIA. He was employed as a fixer at Collins &Aikman.

Survivors include wife Chao Xiong; sons Kou and Chao Vang, both of Richfield, and Nhia, Chao Neng and Xong Vang, all of the home; daughters Amanda and Jennifer Vang, both of the home; brothers Vue Vang, Rockwell, and Vang Vang, Albemarle; and three grandchildren.

Services: Graveside, 2 p.m. Sunday, Stanly Gardens of Memory.

Visitation: Friday, Saturday and Sunday until time for the service at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle. At other times, the family will be at the home on Plank Road.
