HICKORY — The funeral will be Thursday for Elijah Alexander Jr., 64, 98 Third Ave., who died Saturday (July 7, 2001) at Catawba Valley Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health.

Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home chapel, Salisbury, conducted by the Rev. J.L. Stowe. Burial, National Cemetery, Hefner VA Medical Center, Salisbury.

Visitation: 12:30 p.m.Thursday, at the funeral home.

 

Helen Nelson Brandt

SPENCER — Helen Nelson Brandt, 92, Spencer, died Tuesday (July 10, 2001) at WesternWake Telemetry, Raleigh.

KANNAPOLIS — Catherine SarahBrock, 77, 501 N. East Ave., died Monday (July 9, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.

KANNAPOLIS — The funeral will be Thursday for Carl Franklin Caldwell, 78, 3002 N. Main St., who died Saturday (July 7, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Services: 4 p.m. Thursday, Sandy Ridge AMEZionChurch, Landis, conducted by the Rev. Bobby L. Smith. Burial, church cemetery. Military rites by Rowan Veterans Council.

Visitation: 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Nickolas E. Owens

LEXINGTON — Nickolas Eugene Kent Owens, son of Amy Denise Lynch and Terry Eugene Owens, died at birth Saturday (July 7, 2001) at Lexington Memorial Hospital.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Davidson Funeral Home chapel. Burial, Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

 

Dorothy Reynolds

KANNAPOLIS — Dorothy Dancy Reynolds, 76, 1305 Laura Ave., died Monday (July 9, 2001) at Magnolia Healthcare, Spencer.

Born May 13, 1925, in Statesville, Mrs. Reynolds was a daughter of the late Rufus Brant and Bertie Geneva Tyson Dancy. She was a homemaker and attended First Freewill Baptist Church,Landis.

Survivors include son Gary Winston Crane, Kannapolis; sister Clara Clontz, Linwood; brother Rufus Brant Dancy Jr., Warner Robbins, Ga.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services: Graveside, 11 a.m. Wednesday, West Lawn Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. Weldon Key.

Visitation: None.

Lady’s Funeral Home is in charge.

 

Robert W. Sapp

Robert W. Sapp, 67, 3920 St. Peter’s Church Road, died Tuesday (July 10, 2001) at The Laurel’s of Salisbury.

Daisy K. Smith

LEXINGTON — Daisy Kepley Smith, 94, formerly of Beck’s Church Road, died Sunday (July 8, 2001) at Liberty Wood Nursing Home, Thomasville, after six weeks of serious illness.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Davidson Funeral Home chapel. Burial, Floral Gardens Cemetery, High Point.

Visitation: 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
