Wiley Belton Bond

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. — Wiley Belton Bond, 68, Lenoir City, Tenn., died Tuesday (Jan. 23, 2001) at his home.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Bond retired from Union Carbide/Viskase, where he was a machinist, and served on the board of Union Carbide Employees Federal Credit Union for several years. He was a member of Loudon First Baptist Church.

Survivors include wife Sally Bond; daughters Sharon Kilby, China Grove, N.C., and Susan Colella, Knoxville; sons Mike Bond, China Grove, N.C., Mark Bond, Kannapolis, N.C., and Matthew Bond, Athens; sister Sallie Sartain, Danielsville, Ga.; brother Paul Bond, Rayston, Ga; and eight grandchildren.

Services: 7 p.m. today, McGill-Karnes Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Curt Franklin. Interment, 11 a.m. Thursday, Loudon County Memorial Gardens.

Tracy Dawn Kennedy Eudy

ROCKWELL — Tracy Dawn Kennedy Eudy, 26, 13112 Megan Dr., died Tuesday (Jan. 23, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Born March 9, 1974, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Eudy was a daughter of Boyd Kennedy of Durham and Barbara Whitaker of Kannapolis. She was a shipping clerk at Lydall of Rockwell and a member of the Berean Ministry.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include stepfather Marvin Whitaker, Kannapolis; stepmother Anne Sorrell, Durham; sisters Hollie Davis, Burlington, and Luann Tilley, Rockwell; brother Pete Kennedy, Landis; stepbrothers Joe Whitaker, Concord, and Willie Whitaker, Kannapolis; paternal grandmother Bessie Kennedy, Concord; and fiance Mark Fry, Rockwell.

Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord, conducted by the Rev. Duane Holt. Burial, West Concord Cemetery, Concord.

Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home.

 

Ruth McKinney Mann

ROCKWELL — Ruth McKinney Mann, 86, The Meadows Assisted Living at Rockwell, died Tuesday (Jan. 23, 2001) at the home after a period of declining health.

Born Dec. 9, 1914, in Hyde County, Mrs. Mann was a daughter of the late Junious Thomas and Xenia Selby McKinney. A graduate of Engelhard School, she attended cosmetology school and was a retired cosmetologist.

She had been an active member of the former Middletown Christian Church, Hyde County, and was a member of the Hyde chapter, Order of Eastern Star.

Her husband, Richard Howerton Mann, died Oct. 20, 1997.

Survivors include brothers H.J. McKinney, China Grove, N.R., V.A., Earl Gray and P.D. McKinney, all of Salisbury, and P.H. McKinney, Granite Quarry; and sisters Lois M. Fulp, Durham, Willie D. Testa, Auburn, N.Y., Eunice M. Dwiggins, Cooleemee, and Irene M. Hinson and Emogene M. Carawan, both of Salisbury.

Services: Graveside, 11 a.m., Friday, Soule Cemetery, Swan Quarter, conducted by Steve Bryan and Valerie Ballance.

Bryan Funeral Service, Swan Quarter, is in charge of arrangements.

 

Lagrande L. Moskowitz

SPENCER — Lagrande Lomax Moskowitz, 78, Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Spencer, died Tuesday (Jan. 23, 2001) at Good Shepherd Hospice, Auburndale, Fla.

Summersett Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

 

Mary Belle P. Peeler

ROCKWELL — Mary Belle Patterson Peeler, 95, Buford, Ga., formerly of Rockwell, died Thursday (Jan. 11, 2001) at Georgia Baptist Medical Center North in Cummings, Ga.

Born July 25, 1905, in Spartanburg, S.C., Mrs. Peeler was a daughter of the late Markus L. and Minnie Hellams Patterson.

She earned a degree in music from Converse College, Spartanburg, S.C., and was a homemaker. Mrs. Peeler was a member of Ursinus United Church of Christ, Rockwell, where she was church pianist and organist for 44 years.

Her husband, J. Yorke Peeler preceded her in death.

Survivors include son the Rev. Dr. J. Yorke Peeler Jr., West Newberry, Vt.; daughter Mary Louis Peeler Joye, Buford, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Ursinus United Church of Christ, conducted by the Rev. Jim Staunton, pastor, the Rev. Richard Cheek and the Rev. Dr. J. Yorke Peeler Jr. A private graveside service was held Tuesday at church.

Visitation: 2-7 p.m. today at the Rockwell residence. The family will receive friends at the church fellowship hall after the service. Powles Funeral Home is in charge.

Rachel Brattain Redding

SPENCER — Rachel Brattain Redding, 80, Spencer, died Tuesday (Jan. 23, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.

Summersett Funeral Home, Salisbury, is in charge of arrangements.

 

W.H.Richard

LEXINGTON — The funeral is today for Willie Henry “W.H.” Richard, 74, 103 Tanyard St., who died Friday (Jan. 19, 2001) at Lexington Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Richard was a son of the late Jim and Jessie Ann Martin Richard. He was retired from Lei Plant No. 2 and a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons Earl Bobo, Durham, and Benjamin and Paul Richard, both of Lexington; daughters Sharon R. Ward, Patricia R. King and Eloise R. Akwuba, all of Lexington; brother Bobby Richards, Lexington; sisters Lessie M. Wright and Mary Alice Buggs, both of Lexington; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services: 2:30 today, Files Chapel Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Clarence Bussey and the Rev. J.W. Cade. Burial, Lexington City Cemetery.

Visitation: 2-2:30 p.m. today at the church. The body may be viewed until 1:30 p.m. today at Morrison-Studevent Funeral Home, Lexington.

 

Luna Kimmer Myers

MOCKSVILLE — Luna Kimmer Myers, 89, Salisbury Road, died Tuesday (Jan. 23, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.

Eaton Funeral Service is in charge.
