Lacie Goodson Albright
Lacie Goodson Albright, 85, Salisbury, died Friday (Jan. 19, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 28, 1915, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Frank Goodson and Emma Hunsucker Wilhelm. Educated in the Rowan County schools, she was a homemaker and a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Her husband, Rufus “Bill” Albright died Jan. 19, 1986.
Survivors include son John R. Albright, Salisbury; daughter Dorothy Goodman, Salisbury; brothers Dwight, James and Carl Wilhelm, all of Salisbury; sisters Jennie Barrier and Virginia Yost, both of Rockwell, and Beatrice Jordan, Salisbury; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services:11 a.m. Monday, Grace Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Woodrow Frick. Burial, church cemetery.

Ethel Poteat Alexander
KANNAPOLIS —Ethel Poteat Alexander, 97, formerly of 1204 Sides Road, died Friday (Jan. 19, 2001) at the Albemarle Lutheran Home after an extended illness.
Born Dec. 5, 1903, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Edward and Minnie Karriker Poteat. She worked in the sewing room at Cannon Mills, Plant 1, and at K&W Cafeteria in Concord before retiring. She was a charter member of Bethany (now New Hope) Lutheran Church.
Her husband, Clarence Eugene Alexander, died Feb. 22, 1962. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Coleen Alexander Furches.
Survivors include daughter Helen Alexander Blackwelder, Charlotte; sons Troy Alexander, Albemarle, Leonard Alexander, Gastonia ,and Bob Alexander, Wilmington; sister Evelyn Farabee, China Grove; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Robert Eugene Bost
Robert “Bob” Eugene Bost, 78, 4 Carolina St., died Friday (Jan. 19, 2001) at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation after a period of declining health.
Born April 30, 1922, in Rowan County, Mr. Bost was a son of the late Floyd S. and Mary Belle Ketner Bost. Educated in the Salisbury schools, he worked in home maintenance, specializing in painting, for Julius Waggoner. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include wife Mary Earnhardt Bost, whom he married May 15, 1942; son David Bost, Salisbury; daughters Connie Bost Griffin and Shelia Bost Allen, both of Rockwell, and Carol Jean Baker, Salisbury; brother Bud Bost, China Grove; sisters Ruth Coley and Scout Lomax, both of Salisbury, and Betty Johnson, China Grove; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services:1 p.m. Monday, Community Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Christopher O’Guinn. The body will be taken to the church at 12:30. Burial, Salisbury National Cemetery, Statesville Boulevard location, with military graveside rites by the Rowan Veterans Council.

Sadie Ellenburg Burkhardt
Sadie Ellenburg Burkhardt, 75, Maupin Avenue, died Friday (Jan. 19, 2001)at Brightmoor Nursing Home after several months of declining health.
Born Oct. 10, 1925, in Davie County, Mrs. Burkhardt was a daughter of the late Joseph C. and Hester Robertson Ellenburg. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include daughters Vicki Nelson, Salisbury, and Sandra Ambrose, Houston, Texas; sisters Frances Davis, Salisbury, and Ruby Nichols, Melbourne, Fla.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services:A memorial service will be announced at a later date. The body will be cremated.

Grayson Leroy Campbell
Grayson Leroy Campbell, 70, Salisbury, died Saturday (Jan. 20, 2001) at Brian Center Health &Rehabilitation Center after a period of declining health.
Born Dec. 28, 1930, in Rowan County, Mr. Campbell was a son of Lula Walser Campbell Howard, Salisbury, and the late Homer Lee Campbell. Educated in the Cabarrus County schools, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He had retired from Hughes Aircraft in California.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include brother Homer Lee Campbell Jr., Concord.

Barbara Davidson Hadden
CONCORD — Barbara Ruth Davidson Hadden, 63, 778 Candlestick Court S.W., died Saturday (Jan. 20, 2001) at her residence.
Born Oct. 26, 1937, in Staten Island, N.Y., Mrs. Hadden was a daughter of the late Fred and Ruth Bower Davidson. She worked with Triple-City Credit Bureau until 1995 and then with Babcock Furniture until she retired due to ill health last May. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, Kannapolis.
Survivors include husband Robert C. Hadden; daughters Kathy H. Bates, Concord, Susan H. Anderson, Candor, N.Y., and Sarah H. Harrison, Kannapolis; sons Robert C. Gladys L. Honeycutt, 73, formerly of Parkview Circle, died Monday (Jan. 15, 2001) at Big Elm Nursing Home, Kannapolis. She had also been a resident of Brightmoor Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 31, 1922, in Norwood, she was a daughter of the late W. Crawford and Edna Waisner Honeycutt. She was educated in the Norwood and Salisbury-Rowan schools.

Pauline R. Jones
KANNAPOLIS —Pauline R. Jones, 86, formerly of 1323 Graham Ave., died Friday (Jan. 19, 2001) at Caremoor Nursing Center after three years of declining health.
Born Oct. 11, 1914, in Madison County, Ga., Mrs. Jones was a daughter of the late Saint Paul and Delia Simmons Roberts. She was employed with Cannon Mills, Plant 1, No. 2 weave room, for 42 years before retiring in 1979. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Her husband, James Frank Jones, died in 1981.
Survivors include sons W. Howard Jones, Kannapolis, Paul E. Jones, Baltimore, H. Dwight Jones, Fort Worth, Texas, and Tom Jones, Kings Mountain; daughter Nancy Beasley, Kannapolis; brothers Coy Roberts, Kannapo-lis, and Hoyt Roberts, Concord; sisters Inez Bost, Concord, Marie Wheeler, Winston-Salem, Willie Mae Barrett, Hull, Ga., and Ruby Hargrove, Warner Robins, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Wilson Carlisle Myers died at birth Saturday (Jan. 20, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
He was the son of Mark C. and Kimberly Massey Myers, Wood-leaf.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include sister Loren Paige Myers, of the home; grandparents Clyde and Judy Massey, Cleveland, Johnny and Nannie Stanley, Macksburg, Ohio, and Gerald and Libby Canupp, Woodleaf; great-grandmothers Margaret McMahan, Campbells-ville, Ky., and Catherine Myers, Salisbury; and great-great-grandmother Relda Sanders, Campbellsville, Ky.

Tamera Gaynelle Shoemaker, 36, Salisbury, died Saturday (Jan. 20, 2001) at her home.
Born July 14, 1964, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of Stamey C. and Charlene Jones Shoemaker of Salisbury. Educated at Duncan and Wiley schools, she was active in Arc. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Neil Shoemaker, Granite Quarry.

L. Wriston Smith
KANNAPOLIS — L. Wriston Smith, 81, 1577 Daybreak Ridge Road, died Friday (Jan. 19, 2001)at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born Nov. 14, 1919, in Mecklenburg County, Mr. Smith was a son of the late Leon and Bayne Rutledge Smith. Mr. Smith was affiliated with his father at the former Kannapolis Drug Co., which he later owned and operated until his retirement in 1984.
A 1940 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Pharmacy, Mr. Smith was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he was active with the Friendship Bible Class. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he servedwith the 65th General Hospital.
Survivors include wife Anne Griffin Smith; son Lynn Rutledge Smith, Concord; and a granddaughter.
