Annie Lee Allman Broadway, 81, 8107 Smith Road, who died Saturday (Feb. 24,
2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.
Born June 5, 1919, in Stanly County, Mrs.
Broadway was a daughter of the late Boyden T. and Flora Elizabeth Lowder Allman.
A homemaker, she retired in 1981 from Cannon Mills Co. cutting room.
Survivors include husband of 66 years Gaither Lee
Broadway; sons Larry and Troy Broadway, both of Kannapolis, and Donald Ray
Broadway, China Grove; daughters Dorothy Jean Overcash, Alice Lyles and Sherry
Steele, all of Kannapolis, and Mildred Lyles, Landis; sisters Pauline Dayvault
and Janet Baker, both of Kannapolis; brother Frank Allman, Kannapolis; 11
grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

MOCKSVILLE — Bessie Lee Eaton, 76, formerly of
Winston-Salem, died Friday (Feb. 23, 2001) at Meadowbrook Terrace of Davie.
A Davie County native, Miss Eaton was a daughter
of the late William H. and Elnora Foote Eaton.

Addie Mae Everhart
LEXINGTON — Addie Mae Eddinger Everhart, 81,
Hege Drive, died Saturday (Feb. 24, 2001) at her home.
Born Sept. 6, 1919, in Davidson County,Mrs.
Everhart was a daughter of the late William Everette and Linnie Byerly Eddinger.
She was a homemaker. A member of Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church, she was in the
Adult Sunday School class and the Ladies’ Auxiliary.
Sons, James C. and and Harold G. Everhart,
preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters Mary “Bebe”
Armstrong, Becky Martin and Mabel Steed, all of Lexington, and EllenMenser,

Dorothy M. Gaither
Dorothy Laurissa McConneaughey Gaither, 69, 502
Lafayette Circle, died Sunday (Feb. 25, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center
after 18 months of declining health.
Born Dec. 2, 1931, in Rowan County, Mrs. Gaither,
a daughter of the late Lawson A. and Janie Gaither McConneaughey, was a graduate
of J.C. Price High School. She retired from the Salisbury-Rowan Community
Service Council.
A former member of Moore’s Chapel AMEZion
Church, she was a member of the Salvation Army, where she was a Sunday school
teacher, a member of the Wise and Wonderful Senior Citizens and a volunteer.
Survivors include husband James Edward Gaither;
sons James Edward Gaither Jr. and Charles Anthony Gaither, both of Salisbury,
and Theodore Maurice Gaither, Marysville, Ohio; daughters Yvonne Gaither Brown
and Dorothy Gaither Cowan, both of Salisbury, Christine Gaither Reaves,
Greensboro, Annie Gaither Duncan, Creedmoor, Jacquelyn Gaither Rankin, Durham,
and Margarita Bethelmy, Burlington; sister Vida Germany, Jacksonville; 19
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. — Gene E. Honeycutt, 68,
West Columbia, died Saturday (Feb. 24, 2001) at Dorn VAHospital.
Born May 25, 1932, in Salisbury, N.C., Mr.
Honeycutt was a son of the late John O. and Daisy Weaver Honeycutt. He was
educated in the Rowan County, N.C., schools. A 22- year veteran of the U.S.
Army, he retired in 1994 after 14 years at V.C. Summer Nuclear Power Plant. He
was a Baptist.
Survivors include wife of 48 years Doris Williams
Honeycutt, whom he married May 4, 1952; and son Joel E. Honeycutt, Mocksville,
N.C.

The funeral will be Wednesday for Joseph Andrew
“Joe” Page, 50, Salisbury, who died Saturday (Feb. 24, 2001) at his home.
Born Oct. 13, 1950, in Granite Quarry, Mr. Page,
a son of Ruby Jackson Page, Salisbury, and the late David Gwen Page, was
educated in the North Rowan district of Rowan County schools. A veteran of the
U.S. Navy, he during the Vietnam War.
He was a truck driver with Tidewater Transit. He
had earlier worked for Wayne Bost Trucking for six years and Home Concrete Co.
for 15 years. He was a member of Sherrills Ford Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include
wife Mary Williams Page, whom he married in 1969; son Joseph A. “Joey” Page
Jr., of the home; daughter Wendy P.Erickson, Granite Quarry; brothers D.W. Page,
Lucama, and Charles Lee Page, Mocksville; sister Shirley P. Sutton, Redmond,
Ore.; and one grandchild.

Mary Beaver Russ
FAITH — Mary Ethel Beaver Russ, 85, Faith, died
Saturday (Feb. 24, 2001)at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, after eight
years of failing health and a week of serious illness.
Born Dec. 2, 1915, in Rowan County, Mrs. Russ was
a daughter of the late John E. and Nannie Park Beaver. She was educated at
Mulberry School and retired from Linn Corriher Mills, Landis.
A member of Faith Baptist Church, she was a
member and secretary of Emma Park Sunday School class for many years.
Her husband, Johnnie A. Russ, died Feb. 15, 1994.
Survivors include son Clyde William Russ, Faith;
brother Claude Beaver, Salisbury; sisters Eula Mae Sides and Nellie Payne, both
of China Grove; four granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandson.

EAST BEND — Thomas Stephen Worsham, 63, East
Bend, died Sunday (Feb. 25, 2001) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical
Center, Winston-Salem, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born June 21, 1937, in Pennsylvania County,Va.,
Mr. Worsham was a son of the late Harry and Mozelle Mayhew Worsham. He was a
member of Calvary Baptist Church. Retired from the Winston-Salem Police
Department , he had also served ten years with the U.S. Marshal’s office.
Survivors include wife of 41 years Georgia
Dorsett Worsham; daughter Laura Worsham Monroe, East Bend; son Mark Stephen
