Dale Earnhardt

A private service will be held for Dale Earnhardt at Calvary Church in Charlotte from 12-12:30 p.m. Thursday.

The service is for immediate family, employees of Dale Earnhardt, Inc., and Richard Childress Racing, NASCAR Winston Cup Series teams and tracks, NASCAR and associational sponsors of DEI and RCR. Fox Sports Network will broadcast the service live from the church.

There will be no public viewing.

Floral deliveries will be accepted only between the hours of 1-5 today at Calvary Church, 5801 Pineville-Matthews, Charlotte.

A memorial book is available for friends and fans to sign at Raymer Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, who is in charge of the service. All other memorial books may be mailed to the funeral home for delivery to the family.

 

Billy Benton Eagle Jr.

WINSTON-SALEM — Billy Benton Eagle Jr., 42, Winston-Salem, died Monday (Feb. 19, 2001) at his home.

Born May 2, 1958, in Salisbury, Mr. Eagle was a son of Billy Benton and Mary Louise Kincade Eagle, Salisbury. He attended First Assembly of God Church, Winston-Salem.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include wife Ceanzy D. Eagle, whom he married Jan. 6, 1997; sons Billy Eagle III, Winston-Salem, Paul and Stephen Eagle, both of Salisbury, and Timothy Eagle, Statesville; daughter Elizabeth Eagle, Statesville; and brothers Larry Dean Eagle, Spencer, and Ricky Eagle, Woodleaf.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Vogler &Sons Reynolda Road Chapel, conducted by the Rev. James Barker.Burial, Macedonia Baptist Church cemetery,Tobaccoville.

Visitation: 11 a.m.-1:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials: American Red Cross, Northwest North Carolina Chapter, 690 Coliseum Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106-5395.

 

Evelyn M. Kemmerer

LEHIGHTON, Pa. — Evelyn M. Holtzer Kemmerer, 87, Gnaden Huetten Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, mother of Larry M. Kemmerer, Granite Quarry, N.C., died Monday (Feb. 12, 2001) in Lehighton.

Funeral services were held Feb. 16 at Dinkey Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ashfield. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Miller Funeral Home was in charge.

Fred Hamilton Kincaid

KANNAPOLIS — Fred Hamilton Kincaid, 74, 700 Packard Ave., died Tuesday (Feb. 20, 2001) at Hefner VA Medical Center, Salisbury.

Whitley’s Funeral Home is in charge.

 

Zula Barbee Rowland

ALBEMARLE — Zula Mae Barbee Rowland, 91, 209 Second Ave., died Tuesday (Feb. 20, 2001) at Avante of Charlotte.

Services: Graveside, 11 a.m. Thursday, Salem United Methodist Church cemetery.

Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight, Hartsell Funeral Home.

 

Kathleen H. Russell

GRANITE QUARRY — Kathleen Hathaway Russell, 94, formerly of Granite Quarry, died Tuesday (Feb. 20, 2001) at Salisbury Lutheran Nursing Center.

Born July 21, 1906, in Rowan County, Miss Russell, a daughter of the late Daniel G. and Esther Parks Russell, was educated in the Rowan County schools. She was employed in the sheet department at N.C. Finishing Co., Spencer, for 45 years and was a life member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a niece reared in the home, Felicia Eagle of Salisbury, along with a number of other nieces and nephews.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Powles Funeral Home,Rockwell, conducted by the Rev.Bill Hoyle and the Rev. Dr. Benny L. Vickrey. Burial, Chestnut Hills Cemetery, Salisbury.

Visitation: 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ruby Sillmon Tarleton

KANNAPOLIS — Ruby Sillmon Tarleton, 85, Austin, Texas, formerly of Cooper Avenue, died Monday (Feb. 19, 2001) at the home of daughter Janis Bryant of Austin, Texas.

Lady’s Funeral Home is in charge.
