Born Feb. 9, 1926, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Bowles was a daughter of the late Martin Luther and Annie Stirewalt Rimer. She was a member of Bible Presbyterian Church. Retired, she had worked at Brown Mill and Cannon Mills.
Survivors include husband Boyce Rimer.

ALBEMARLE — Norma Jean McSwain Miller Burr, 67, 1015 Spruce St., died Thursday (Feb. 1, 2001) at Stanly Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 12, 1933, in Stanly County, Mrs. Burr was a daughter of the late Woodrow and Ethel Cole McSwain. She was a homemaker.
Her first husband, Luther David Miller, preceded her in death.
Survivors include husband Ronnie Kemp Burr; sons James David and Luther Junior Miller, both of Albemarle; daughters Linda M. Watts, Albemarle, and Norma M. Finchum, Cornelius; brothers Larry McSwain, Fayetteville, and Lewis McSwain, with the U.S.Army; sisters Jackie Russell, Durham, Hazel Cole, Albemarle, and Jane Russell, Baltimore, Md.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

LEXINGTON — Vera Nell Wafford Everhart, 79, 606 Peeler St., died Wednesday (Jan. 31, 2001) at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
Born June 23, 1921, in Iredell County, Mrs. Everhart was a daughter of the late George Thomas and Nancy Estelle Hobbs Wafford. She was a homemaker and attended Oakhurst Baptist Church.
Her husband, Casper Everhart, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters Carolyn Robertson and Tammie Craver, both of Lexington; sons Charles Everhart, Lexington, and Ron Everhart, Copperas Cove, Texas; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The body will be cremated and no services will be held for Terry Michael LaChance, 51, Salisbury, who died Wednesday (Jan. 31, 2001) after a pedestrian/ automobile accident.
Born May 18, 1949, in Monroe, Mich., Mr. LaChance was a son of William F. and Marie LaChance, Monroe, Mich. He was educated in the Michigan schools.

Peggy Loflin Miller
Peggy Loflin Miller, 74, 3480 Carmi Lane, died Thursday (Feb. 1, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
Born May 1, 1926, in Salisbury, Mrs. Miller, a daughter of the late Clarence and Phyllis Wessman Loflin, was educated at Boyden High School.
She had worked with Home Town Furniture and J.C. Penney for 11 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, the Elizabeth McCombs Women’s Circle, Wednesday Morning Canasta Group, and a life member of Southern Seminary Auxiliary.
Her husband, Marshall Gordon Miller, died July 29, 1982.
Survivors include son Gordon Miller, Salisbury; daughter Linda Nowokunski, Salisbury; brother Jack Loflin, Wilmington; sisters Joan Gaskins, Wilmington, and Clare Swicegood, Oak Ridge; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

KANNAPOLIS — The funeral will be Saturday for Hessie Wike Moose, 92, York County, Va., formerly of Kannapolis, who died Monday (Jan. 29., 2001) at Regency Health Care Center, Grafton, Va.
Born Oct. 15, 1908, in Taylorsville, Mrs. Moose was a daughter of the late John and Alice Woodfin Wike.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lee Moose, and a grandson.

MOORESVILLE — Kenneth Austin Morrow, 74, Franklin Drive, died Thursday (Feb. 1, 2001) at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 24, 1926, in Moores-ville, Mr. Morrow, a son of the late Clyde Elliott and Myrtle McAllister Morrow, was a graduate of Mooresville HighSchool and attended Kings Business College. He retired as foreman for Crouch Brothers House Moving after working in North and South Carolinas and Virginia for over 40 years.
A veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, he served during World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Mooresville, and Mooresville Masonic Lodge 496.
Survivors include wife Ruby Crouch Morrow, whom he married Aug. 29, 1947; children Ken Morrow Jr. andMargaret M Baker, both of Mooresville, MarshallE. Mr. Stout was a son of the late John T. and Myrtle Hand Stout. He was educated in the Rowan County schools.

Born March 4, 1914, in Union County, Mrs. Thompson was a daughter of the late William Raymond and Cleo Traywick Hill. A homemaker, she was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church.
Her husband, Hoyt Thompson, died Jan. 22, 1994.

The funeral will be Sunday for Esther Rita Bernstein Weisler, 74, Salisbury, who died Wednesday (Jan. 31, 2001) at her home from complications of lung cancer.
Born Dec. 22, 1926, in Charleston, S.C., Mrs. Weisler was a daughter of the late David and Bella Bernstein. She graduated from high school in Greensboro and received a degree in sociology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1947.
Owner and operator of Rowan Distributing, she was an active volunteer and contributor to many local organizations, including Rowan Regional Hospital Foundation, Catawba College and Livingstone College. She was a member of Temple Israel.
Her husband, Irving Aaron Weisler, whom she married Oct. 23, 1949, preceded her in death.
Survivors include son Dr. Richard Weisler, Raleigh, and Paul Weisler, Salisbury; daughter Dr. Ann Edmundson, Atlanta, Ga.; and six grandchildren.
