Kannapolis teams remain unbeaten in Northeast tournament

CONCORD — Aundrae Allison scored 24 points as A.L. Brown’s boys basketball team beat Waddell 78-66 in the first round of the Northeast Medical Christmas Tournament on Thursday night.

John Graham, a senior playing his first year of basketball, scored 17 and Timmy Allison added 10 for the Wonders (7-0).

Shawn Baker scored 24 for Waddell.

The Wonders play Mount Pleasant (8-2) tonight at 8:30 at Central Cabarrus High School.

A.L. Brown’s girls stayed unbeaten as well, topping Waddell 45-29 behind 17 points by Elise Stanback and 12 by Tomekia Powell.

“We played terrible,” said Wonder coach Doug Wilson. “We’re still playing at the level of whoever is in front of us.”

The Wonders (7-0) will take on Mount Pleasant at 7 p.m. tonight at Robinson High.
