Arlie N. Dellinger

KANNAPOLIS — Arlie Nesby Dellinger, 68, formerly of 2003 Central Drive, died Friday (Dec. 21, 2001) at Big Elm Nursing Center. He had been in declining health for seven months.

Born June 15, 1933, in Cabarrus County, Mr. Dellinger was a son of the late Curtis Nesby and Jettie Hallman Dellinger. He had worked as a car salesman for Hilbish Ford and later for Quality Clothing in China Grove for 10 years until retiring due to ill health. He was an active member of the Kannapolis Moose Lodge for 40 years and a lifetime resident of the area.

Survivors include son Scott Nesby Dellinger, Rockwell; daughter Nancy Dellinger Beaver, Kannapolis; brother Phil Dellinger, Kannapolis; sisters Velma Mason, Rockwell, and Betty Love, Concord; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services:Graveside, 2 p.m. today, Oakwood Cemetery in Concord, conducted by the Rev. Tim Jernigan.

Visitation:The family received friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday. The family is at the home of daughter Nancy Beaver, 4759 Rainbow Drive, Kannapolis.

Joseph H. Fogleman

BURLINGTON — Joseph Harold Fogleman, 87, 2514 Parrish St., died Saturday (Dec. 22, 2001) at Duke University Medical Center. He had been in failing health for 2 1/2 weeks.

Born in Burlington, Mr. Fogleman was the son of the late A.H. Fogleman and Lula Brown Fogleman. He was raised in Salisbury. He was a retired credit manager for Duke Power and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was active in the 83rd Infantry Division Association and was a lifetime member of Macedonia Lutheran Church.

His wife, Dorothy Lee Hearne Fogleman, sister Mary Lou Preston, and brothers Brown Fogleman and Paul Fogleman, preceded him in death.

Survivors include son Harold Lee Fogleman, Burlington; and three grandchildren.

Services:11 a.m. Monday, Macedonia Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Stephen Rust. Burial, Pine Hill Cemetery.

Visitation:3-5 today, Rich and Thompson Mortuary, Burlington. At other times, the family will be at the home of son Harold Fogleman, 1063 N. Riverview Drive, Burlington.

ALBEMARLE — John Wesley Maxwell, 58, 316 Morningside Drive, died Friday (Dec. 21, 2001) at Beverly Healthcare Renaissance.

Services:11 a.m. Friday, Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. Burial, Stanly Gardens of Memory Mausoleum.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Hartsell Funeral Home.

 

Annie D. Roper

ALBEMARLE — Annie Davis Roper, 87, 618 Elizabeth Ave., died Friday (Dec. 21, 2001) at Forest Oaks Healthcare Center.

Services:2 p.m. Monday, Saints Delight Church, Albemarle, conducted by Elder James E. Richardson, pastor, and Bishop Vander D. Purcell. Burial, Stanly Garden of Memory. Kelsey Funeral Home of Albemarle is in charge.

 

Corris V. Simmons

KANNAPOLIS — Corris Virgil Simmons, 74, 2219 Moose Road, died Saturday (Dec. 22, 2001) at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Whitley’s Funeral Home is in charge.

 

Catherine C. Wagoner

MOORESVILLE — Catherine Jeanette Coggin Wagoner, 81, of Genesis Elder Care, died Friday (Dec. 21, 2001) at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

Services: 3 p.m. today, Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Bob Clanton. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior. Burial, Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Misenheimer.

Visitation:After the service at the church.

Irene E. Webb

Irene Eagle Webb, 81, of Salisbury, died Saturday (Dec. 22, 2001) at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation of Rowan. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Summersett Funeral Home is in charge.

 

Patricia A. White

MOCKSVILLE — Patrician Ann Altman White, 56, Grannaman Drive, died Friday (Dec. 21, 2001) at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Born March 9, 1945, in Johnsonville, S.C., Mrs. White was a daughter of the late Thomas Altman and Ann Evans. With her husband, she managed W.G. White & Co. in Winston-Salem. She had previously worked for WonderKnit and Crescent EMC.

She was a member of Ijames Crossroads Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, was a teacher in the children’s department and was instrumental in organizing and publishing the church pictorial directory.

Survivors include husband Doug White of the home; daughter Robin Renee White, Mocksville; sisters Movita Matthews, Florence, S.C., and Gail Marlowe and Connie Altman, both of Johnsonville, S.C.; and two grandchildren.

Services:2 p.m. Sunday, Ijames Crossroads Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Tommy Faust, pastor. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior. Burial, church cemetery.

Visitation:The family received friends at Eaton Funeral Home Saturday night.
