Rev. Willie Aldrich

The funeral will be Thursday for the Rev. Willie Lee Banks Aldrich, 78, 405 Milford Hills Road, who died Sunday (Dec. 9, 2001) at her home.

Services: 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Moore’s ChapelAMEZion Church, conducted by the Rev. T. Anthony Spearman, pastor. Burial, National Cemetery, Salisbury, VAMedical Center location.

Visitation: 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. At other times, the family will be at the home on Milford Hills Road.

Mitchell &Fair Funeral Services is in charge.

James F. Everhart

LEXINGTON — James Franklin Everhart, 51, Lexington, died Sunday (Dec. 9, 2001).

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Piedmont Funeral Home chapel.

Visitation: 7-9 tonight at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home.

 

John R. Farabee

LEXINGTON — The funeral was Monday for John Randall Farabee, 60, South Highway 150, who died Saturday (Dec. 8, 2001) at Lexington Memorial Hospital.

Services were held Monday at Davidson Funeral Home chapel. Burial was at Psalm 91 Church cemetery.

 

Delmer Lee Fraley Jr.

The funeral will be Thursday for Delmer Lee Fraley Jr., 60, Salisbury, who died Sunday (Dec. 9, 2001) in Lumberton from injuries sustained in an auto accident.

Born Aug. 21, 1941, in Rowan County, Mr. Fraley was a son Kathleen Moose Fraley, Faith, and the late Delmer Lee “Tom”Fraley. He was educated at Faith High School and owned and operated Fraley Plumbing.

A member of Shiloh United Church of Christ, Faith, he worked with the Baptist Relief Program. He was a member of the Currier and Ives Dinnerware Association by Royal China.

A son, Delmar Lee FraleyIII, died June 30, 1999.

Survivors include wife Shirley Eagle Fraley, whom he married Feb. 27, 1960; son Nelson S. Fraley, Gold Hill; daughters Annette Denise Fraley, Reidsfield,Maine, and Lisa Fraley Cook, Salisbury; brother Marvin Wayne Fraley, Salisbury; and 12 grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Shiloh United Church of Christ, Faith, conducted by the Rev. Lawrence Bolick. Burial, church cemetery.

Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell. At other times, the family will be at the home.

Elmond E. Harwood

ALBEMARLE — Elmond Elwood Harwood, 74, 32935 Rowland Road, died Monday (Dec. 10, 2001) at Stanly Manor.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, New Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, Richfield. Burial, church cemetery.

Visitation: 7-9 tonight, HartsellFuneral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home on Rowland Road.

LEXINGTON —Joseph Todd Hester, 34, Frye Bridge Road, died Saturday (Dec. 8, 2001) at his home.

Ingeborg Klee Kraus

CHARLOTTE — Ingeborg Helga Klee Kraus, 80, 1124 Ballantyne Trace Court, mother of Russell Kraus,Albemarle, died Sunday (Dec. 9, 2001)at Clare Bridge Memory Care.

No services or visitation is planned.

Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, is in charge.

 

Maskel E. McLain

KANNAPOLIS — The funeral is today for Maskel Emberry McLain, 76, 102 Briarcliff Drive, who died Sunday (Dec. 9, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.

Born Oct. 7, 1925, in Chesterfield County, S.C., Mr. McLain, a son of the late G.E. and Laura Polston McLain, was a member of Boulevard Chapel. He formerly owned and operated Towel City Terminal and Yellow Dome Cab companies. Later, he owned all the cab business in Kannapolis.

Survivors include wife Cloe Mullis McLain; brother John P. McLain, Patrick, S.C.; sisters Bertha Tyner and Rowena Therell, both of Kannapolis, and Dora Dillard, Concord; stepchildren Claudette Miller, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Vickie Cox, Concord, Gena Scoggins, Rockwell, and Teresa Wallace, Kannapolis; seven stepgrandchildren; and numerous step-great-grandchildren.

Services: 7 tonight, Whitley’s Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Pearlie Peterson and the Rev. Raymond Bailey. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.

Visitation: 6-7 tonight at the funeral home.At other times, the family will be at the home on Briarcliff Drive.

 

Mark Harold Miller

The funeral will be Wednesday for Mark Harold Miller, 29, Salisbury, who died Sunday (Dec. 9, 2001).

Born March 26, 1972, in Rowan County, Mr. Miller was the son of Harold J. and Donnell Shepherd Miller, Salisbury. He graduated from East Rowan High School in 1990 and was a life member at Union Lutheran Church.

For 10 years, he was employed by McKenzie Sport Products in the shipping department. He was the first recipient of the Over Achievement award with McKenzie for team leadership in building mechanical parts. Only two of these awards have been presented.

Mr. Miller was active in tractor driving contests through the Future Farmers of America at East Rowan High School, winning the Rowan County competition and competing in state finals. He drove a tractor shuttle at Dan Nicholas Park during the annual Fall Jubilee festival.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include girlfriend of two years Sherry Tucker, Salisbury; and sisters Monica Miller Harris, Port St. Joe, Fla., and Megan Miller, of the home.

Services: 4 p.m. Wednesday, Union Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Darrell Norris. Employees of McKenzie Sports Products will be seated as a group. Burial, church cemetery.

Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight, Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.

Ray Dillon Rowell

KANNAPOLIS — Ray Dillon Rowell, 71, 1405 Sherwood Drive, died Sunday (Dec. 9, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, after a brief illness.

Born Aug. 6, 1930, in Chesterfield County, S.C., Mr. Rowell was a son of the late C.J. and Lillian Wright Rowell. He was employed with Cannon Mills Co. Plant 1 in research and development. Later he was employed at Plant 16, where he instructed fixers for 44 years. He retired in 1992.

A member and deacon at Ben Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, he was a former Sunday school teacher and superintendent for many years.

A son, Douglas Rowell, preceded him in death.

Survivors include wife Helen Meeks Rowell; sons Steve Rowell, Columbus,Ga., and Mike Rowell, Kannapolis; daughter Debbi Rowell, Kannapolis; brother Wade Rowell, Kannapolis; sister Teva Simpson, Concord; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Ben Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dean Mitchem and Charles Sloop. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.

Visitation: 6-8 tonight, Whitley’s Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home on Sherwood Drive.

 

Louise M. Saunders

LEXINGTON — Louise Maness Saunders, 73, Del Vista Drive, died Sunday (Dec. 9, 2001) at Centerclair Nursing Home.

Services: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Davidson Funeral Home chapel. Burial, Randolph Memorial Park.

Visitation: 6-8 tonight at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home on Del Vista Drive.

 

Pauline Holt Walser

LEXINGTON — Pauline Holt Walser, 87, 522 Arrington Drive, died Monday (Dec. 10, 2001) at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, Winston-Salem, after six months of declining health.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Davidson Funeral Home chapel. Burial, Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation: 6-8 tonight at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home on Arrington Drive.

Frances G. Younts

LEXINGTON — Frances Grubb Younts, 74, formerly of Bowers Road, died Sunday (Dec. 9, 2001) at Britthaven of Davidson.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Davidson Funeral Home chapel. Burial, Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Visitation: 6-8 tonight at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home.
