Gladys Goodwin
KANNAPOLIS — The funeral will be held this afternoon for Gladys Rachel King Goodwin, 70, 600 Walter St., who died Friday (Dec. 7, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born Feb. 16, 1931, in Chesterfield County, S.C., Mrs. Goodwin was a daughter of the later Olee and Annie Elizabeth Gordon King.
She owned and operated several convenience stores and a was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church.
Son Jackie Goodwin died on March 30, 1974, and son Leo Goodwin died on Aug. 5, 1978. A grandson died on May 1, 1994.
Survivors include daughters Frances Childress, Kannapolis, and Barbara Williamson, China Grove; son Robert Goodwin, Pitman, N.J.; brother Rayford King, Spartanburg, S.C.; sisters Lucy Boan, Bellsville, Ohio, and Mary Jackson and Virginia Jordan, both of Mt. Croghan, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services: 3:30 p.m. today, Lady’s Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. bill Bauguess. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
Visitation: 2-3:30 this afternoon at the funeral home.

Sadie Edgison Hogan
CONCORD — Sadie Edgison Hogan, 90, formerly of 220 Bishop Lane, died Friday (Dec. 7, 2001) at Universal Healthcare.
Born Aug. 27, 1911, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Hogan was a daughter of the late Joseph T. and Maudie Sides Edgison.
She retired from the No. 2 spinning room at Cannon Mills Plant 1 and was a member of Charity Baptist Church.
Her husband, the Rev. Paul Grady Hogan, died July 12, 1992. He had served churches in Salisbury, Gold Hill and Albemarle.
Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews and special friend Janie Efird, Albemarle.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Lady’s Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. R.J. Hammond and the Rev. Gene Beaver. Burial, Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church cemetery.
Visitation: 3-5 p.m. today at the funeral home and at other times at their respective homes.

Wilma Bolick Killian
NEW LONDON — Wilma Louise Bolick Killian, 76, 350 Pinehaven Drive, died Saturday (Dec. 8, 2001) at Stanly Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 10, 1925, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Killian was a daughter of the late John Marvin and Vella Brown Bolick.
She retired from Burlington Industries.
Husband Lloyd Bernard Killian Sr. died in 1994.
Survivors include son Bernie Killian, High Rock; daughters Judy Spradley, Concord, and Pam Soares, Greensboro; sister Shirley Carter, Concord; and four grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Hartsell Funeral Home chapel, Albemarle, conducted by the Rev. Derald Smith. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.

‘Tim’ Allyn McCollum
KANNAPOLIS — Timmy “Tim” Allyn McCollum, 51, 1351 Rainbow Drive, died Friday (Dec. 7, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center after six months of declining health.
Born Nov. 5, 1950, in Iredell County, Mr. McCollum was a son of Alonzo M. McCollum, Kannapolis, and the late Kathleen Campbell McCollum.
A 1969 graduate of A.L. Brown High School, he attended East Carolina University and Rowan Technical College. He worked as a Tech II for Phillip Morris USA and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his father, survivors include stepmother Wilma R. McCollum; and brother Terry M. McCollum, Kannapolis.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home chapel, China Grove, conducted by the Rev. Willie Rash, pastor, Centerview Baptist Church. Burial, West Lawn Memorial Park.

LEXINGTON — The Rev. Leonard Leon Rollins, 74, Glenwood Drive, died Friday (Dec. 7, 2001) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem.
Since retiring, he did supply and interim work at First Baptist Church, Cooleemee, and Lakeview Baptist Church, Linwood.
